When Target releases a new box, you’d better move fast. These things sell out QUICK, guys. The first one lasted a day or two, but this last one was gone in about an hour. I can’t even imagine how fast I’m going to have to click to get the next one. There’s a reason though – you get so much for the teeny $7 price tag. Yes, that’s right – $7. Sometimes they’re even $5. FIVE DOLLARS. It’s hard to get a damn coffee for that anymore.

I’m not even sure how often these come out – quarterly? Bi-monthly? I’ve gotten all of them so far, but they’re never announced and time moves strangely when you work and play as hard as I do, so I have no idea how regularly they’re released. Don’t judge me.

This time they released a men’s box with the beauty box, which Lauren (and Matt… sort of) reviewed for us all. I only got the beauty box because Brian is way less interested in these things than I am. Lauren and I both got the beauty box, so we’ll review this one together!

Sinful Colors Professional Nail Color in Thimbleberry – $1.99 (full size)

Jill: I absolutely love this color. It’s like neon watermelon. I know different colors were sent out, so I’m curious about which one Lauren got, but I feel like I lucked out with this hue. I’m a total Julep fangirl, so I’m not sure how the quality of this formula will compare, but the color is worth a few coats to find out!

Lauren: I thought I got the same color as Jill but upon further examination, it’s actually more of a Barbie pink called Boom Boom. I am sort of meh on it because I’m not really a Barbie-pink kind of girl but it might be cute on my toes!

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick in Gladiolus – $7.99 (full size)

Jill: Another full sized item! This one in particular is worth more than the $7 box – can’t complain about that. I actually really love this lipstick. The color is a bright, vivid red. Not really my shade, but I love how it feels on my lips.

Lauren: I got the same shade as Jill and for me, it’s a great shade of red. However, sometimes I think it’s kind of dangerous to have a bright red that is SO creamy because things can get Hot Mess Express really fast. Like, you have to be careful eating and drinking because before you know it, lipstick is all over your face and people are asking you, “Why So Serious?”

Olay Regenerist Luminous HydraSwirl Eye Cream – $25.99 (full size)

Jill: Yet ANOTHER full sized product, and this one is worth more than 3x the price of the box! Target has really outdone themselves this time. This brightening eye cream has been getting rave reviews and I can’t wait to try it.

Lauren: This is my favorite product in the box and I’ve been slathering it all over my eyes ever since I bought it. I’ve always loved Olay products and while they are definitely less expensive than department store brands, they are often more expensive than I’m willing to pay at Target. I never even looked to see how much this one cost until now– $25.99! I think it’s awesome that they included this product in a $7 box. This cream is very pearlescent and gives the eye area some sheen and helps deflect and cover dark circles. I don’t have a huge problem with dark circles but I always like the idea of putting light reflecting materials around the eye– it just helps brighten the face.

Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Remover Pads – 3 ct – $1.20

Jill: These…. are…. AWESOME. The package boasts that each pad removes 10 nails, but I can actually get all my fingernails AND toe nails with one sheet. They come in foil packs so they’re easy to carry in your purse or toss into a suitcase. I will definitely buy the full size pack (10 ct for $3.99)

Lauren: This just happened: after reading Jill’s review on the Cutex Advanced Revival Nail Polish Pads, I literally stopped writing this blog so I could go test them out for myself. I was like, “Oh, I’ll come back to this.” But then I ALMOST forgot to come back to this and so this section was almost blank because I got distracted and left. Sometimes it is amazing we post as much as we do. Actual product update: I agree with Jill– these are awesome. I’m not sure if I could get my hands AND my toes but I could definitely get all 10 fingernails clean with one pad. These are great. And definitely convenient for travel!

Fekkai Blowout Dry Shampoo – $7.99 (full size)

Jill: OMG ANOTHER FULL SIZED ITEM! Target, will you marry me? They’re certainly spoiling us with this box because I don’t think $7 has ever been stretched this far. This dry shampoo is one that I’ve used before, and I’m glad I get to try it again. I use dry shampoo all the time (hello, volume), so I am always thrilled to get one in a subscription box.

Lauren:  There were a few options floating around– one was this dry shampoo and the other was a hair oil or something. I was hoping to receive the hair oil because I’ve received this dry shampoo in boxes before and it isn’t my favorite. It isn’t super volumizing and I don’t feel like it really soaks up oil the way I need to. I turn to Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak dry shampoo, which they also sell at Target.

BONUS ITEM: Coupon for $3.00 off of a beauty purchase of $15.

Final Rating: A+

The retail value of this box is $48.16 and we paid only $7.00 for it. It’s a no-brainer how great the value is for this one. Target boxes are generally awesome; they include true beauty items that aren’t throwaway inventory items, and for that we will continue to rush to buy them when they are released. We love this box!
