Hello, friends! We hope everyone had amazing holidays! We are excited to once again collaborate with The Chic Machine to celebrate the re-launch of her blog! She’s actually doing a pretty awesome giveaway so you should definitely go to her site and check out her new look and enter to win some awesome makeup while you are at it! (And why not like her on Facebook while you are at it? 🙂 )
To celebrate her new blog, why not talk about some fun makeup to help ring in the new year!
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation ($64)
The New Year is a time to really Go For It with makeup, so no bb creams or tinted moisturizers here! Time for some amazing covereage but that doesn’t mean it has to be heavy! Giogio Armani is the king of full-coverage makeup without feeling like you are wearing full-coverage makeup!
Kat von D Shade + Light Face Contour Refillable Palette ($49)
As I mentioned above, New Year’s Eve ain’t the time to be shy. If anytime is a time to practice contouring, it’s NYE. 1. You’ll be out at night 2. People will be too drunk to notice if you messed up. I am coveting this palette by Kat von D after looking at it for almost a year. I would have bought it today but they were out of it at Sephora! This is the palette that all the bloggers swear by so you should grab it, also!
Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Skintuitive Blush in Energy
Contouring doesn’t mean that you don’t get to blush! Get yo’self an awesome natural looking flush, like this one from Tarte that adapts to your skintone to give you that perfect flush.
BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone ($38)
New Year’s Eve is the time to SHINE so take this opportunity to buy the perfect highlighter from BECCA. I got tired of my friends not using it so I’ve bought it for most of them at this point. This highlighter in moonstone gives your face such a perfect glow, you’re going to look like a pretty vampire from Twilight.
A matte black shadow is a perfect base for your non-subtle New Year’s Eve look. This is just a straight up black that you can use to get a smoky eye or a fun rock-n-roll, smudgy look. (Melissa, you can still wear teal eye shadow for your rock-n-roll look.)
Can you imagine a more perfect NYE color than Midnight? This black and gold shadow is perfect to layer on top of the matte black to give your eyes that perfect shine that everyone will remember!
Fluff’n THick Silk Lash Collection by Velour Lashes ($26)
Nothing says a special night out like a full set of fluttery, dramatic lashes! If you aren’t sure whether you can pull them off, you can! You just need to find a set that works for you. Sephora has a ton but you can get some from Ulta also!
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($23)
If you don’t go the falsies route, or you want to blend your lashes with your falsies, use some of this mascara! If you are only doing mascara, use this stuff GENEROUSLY.
Pat McGrath Labs Black Dual Ended Marker ($24)
I got Pat McGrath’s Metalmorphosis kit in bronze and while the eye color was pretty, I LOVED this eyeliner. It gave me the blackest line I’ve ever experienced over eyeshadow. It didn’t go grey and it didn’t skip. It is the perfect way to define your eyes a little more, especially if you are wearing falsies.
Revlon ColorStay Overtime Lip Color $8.79
New Year’s Eve isn’t the time to be worrying about your lipstick. Use a long-wear lip color so you don’t have to worry about your lipstick going all over your face or getting on your nose. (This literally happened to me at a party a few weeks ago. I am going to take my own advice next time!)
I hope y’all have the most fun New Year’s Eve ever and if you use any of these products in your look, let me know in the comments or tag us on Instagram.
