About Lauren:  a self-proclaimed beauty junkie/hoarder with a serious Sephora problem. After years with Birchbox, she now has a subscription box problem as well. She now receives Birchbox (again), Julep, POPSUGAR Must Have, Happy Mail by A Beautiful Mess, Play! by Sephora, Allure Beauty Box, Golden Tote, and Dollar Shave Club. She refrains herself from getting more but that might not be possible. She can’t stop. She won’t stop. In addition to the superficial stuff, she married her best friend Matt on November 1, 2014 and the wedding was perfect– just as she planned. (There were many spreadsheets involved.) She’s a former radio DJ/indie music snob in a past life but now enjoys the simple pleasures of a good Taylor Swift jam. She reads as many books as possible to combat her addiction to television and likes the critically acclaimed “good” TV just as much as those Bravo Real Housewives. She also likes to talk about Vanderpump Rules with anyone who will listen and vows to one day meet her best friend Ariana. At one point she wanted to learn calligraphy but has fallen victim to the death grips of the Adult Coloring Book World.

About Jill: Jill is a lazy person disguised as a workaholic. She co-owns a shop in Balitmore with her husband Brian and also maintains a steady graphic design freelance business. Her biggest passion is traveling and having crazy adventures in third world countries. Her second biggest passion is food, though only by a slim margin. Not 5 minutes goes by without her planning her next meal in her head. In fact, if you talk to her for longer than 2 minutes she probably stopped listening to think about food at least once. She is a serious reality TV junkie and spends way too much time discussing the relationship intricacies of Vanderpump Rules characters. She derives an unnerving amount of joy from dressing her 95-lb dog in ridiculous costumes. Jill currently subscribes to Julep, Popsugar, Birchbox, Love With Food, RawSpiceBar, and Stitch Fix.

This is Jill in Thailand on one of her adventures.

About Jill and Lauren: Jill and Lauren met at a wine tasting group in Baltimore. They bonded over the fact that they would never dump out any wine after tasting–that is just wasteful. Though Lauren now lives in Texas, they have stayed in touch and talk nearly every day, mostly about subscription boxes, which is why this blog came about. They goad each other into getting more boxes and they have both fallen completely down that rabbit hole. Though they get some of the same boxes, their opinions about different products are wildly different. For example, Lauren loves a good Julep Satin while Jill loves those creme finishes. So while they might review boxes with similar products, you’ll always get their honest opinions of each.

Lauren, thank you for letting me know about y’alls blog (at work?)! I’m obsessed with Birchbox but I hate that they’ve changed their point system. That being said unless they get rid of it all together I probably still continue to subscribe. Unless there is another box out there that has a point system similar to the old Birchbox points. Thoughts about the change and if there is something else out there that I should consider?

I don’t know of a box that has a similar point system but the Play! by Sephora box is pretty legit! And the $10 you pay for the box does go towards your Beauty Insider points, so that’s kind of cool!

Since you’ve been using Skimlinks, you’ve probably come to appreciate how affiliate links can generate new revenue streams. VigLink covers 4X more merchants than Skimlinks, with over 80k existing relationships versus their 20k.

At VigLink, we’ve created a tool that identifies keywords in your website content with the highest potential yield and automatically transforms that text into links on your behalf. Publishers who enable Insert can more-than-double their affiliate revenue — some make 8-10x more!

Let me know if you’d like to learn more about this!
