Yay! It’s Ipsy day. Ipsy fought the fall trend this month and their October theme is Beauty Candy. The theme of the box feels very Spring to me, however, none of the products seem to be any sort of season themed so I think it’s OK.

Behold, the contents of my ipsy glam bag! The bag itself is OK, also. I might put my little knitting supplies in it so they don’t get lost in my big bag. Or I might save it for Christmas presents. Who knows. Some of them look too cheap like I would be embarrassed to give them to people but this one looks OK. It passes inspection.

My favorite item in the box are the facial wipes. I know they aren’t super exciting but I am almost out of mine so this will be used ASAP.

Next favorite item is the Mango Mandarin lotion. There isn’t a card that explains what each item is so I’m having a hard time understanding if Mango Mandarin is the flavor or the brand? Figs and Rouge might be the brand? Unclear. With the exception of that confusion, the packaging is cute and my hands are dry. I used it right away and it smelled nice. Not the thickest lotion in the world but it sank in quickly.

I also liked the Model Co VolumeEyes mascara. It is a decent mascara and I am going to keep it in my purse or in my desk at work. I recently got that Younique 3D mascara which has been amazing and is a blog for another day. But this is a decent mascara.

I wasn’t too crazy about the Doll 10 highlighter or the City Color Lipstick. The highlighter cream formula was nice but it didn’t really show up on me. Similarly, the lipstick formula was OK but the color was Eek.

I included this tiny picture so you could see how weird the lipstick looked on me. It’s totally 90’s and it makes my face look weird. Pass. But I do like that the matte formula doesn’t feel too drying, like all those lipsticks in the 90’s actually felt.

I think I will give this month’s bag a C. I will use the bag, the facial wipes, and the lotion. Possibly the mascara in a spare bag, though it won’t replace my main mascara. Most of the items in the bag were OK, just not super exciting. I have definitely seen other Ipsy bags that I would have preferred. Others got fun nail polish and different lipsticks, but not knowing what you are going to get is half the fun. If you are interested in subscribing to ipsy, click this link! Join me! • I ended up giving it away! I received a highlighter in my Birchbox last month that I like a lot better. Also my NARS highlighter will last forever since I use so little of it at a time!
