It’s time! It’s time! It’s time for the best box of the year! POPSUGAR’s Holiday Special Edition box is here! Every quarter POPSUGAR releases a special edition box for $100 and it’s crammed with high-end items that are too pricey for the regular $39.99 monthly box. I look forward to them every few months, and this one was definitely the best I’ve ever gotten! I am so excited to share this box with you all, unboxing it was like Christmas morning.
Turkish-T Diamond Throw – $65: The largest item in the box this quarter was a beautiful blanket. It’s thin, but it’s large. It’s great to wrap around yourself during any season, not necessarily just to warm yourself. The fabric is not extremely soft or plush, but it is light and durable. The herringbone diamond pattern is gorgeous and stylish, and the grayish blue color is really pretty and neutral. I really love this blanket even for just decoration. It looks good.
Illume Gilded Amberleaf Metallic Knob Tin – $23.50: I cannot express to you how good this candle smells. It’s warm and full of vanilla, but fresh and clean at the same time. It smells rich and complex, like perfume, yet soft and subtle like a room fragrance. According to the box insert, the scent is “cedarwood and golden amber infused with mandarin, vetiver, vanilla, and tobacco.” All I know is that I could seriously inhale this shit all day long. I have certainly never paid $23.50 for a candle before, but I’m already planning on buying a replacement when this inevitably burns through. Also, it’s hard to tell from the picture, but it’s a huge candle. #3wicksnojoke
Loeffler Randall Envelope Clutch – $70: UGH I LOVE THIS CLUTCH. I kinda came down hard on POPSUGAR last month because they keep sending clutches to us, but this clutch makes me eat my words. Thank you for not listening to me. Thank you. This beautiful leather purse is embossed with a really cool python print and lined with a sophisticated black and white pebble print inside. I wasn’t familiar with Loeffler Randall’s products before this, but apparently Saks and Neiman Marcus carriy his shoes and handbags. One look at this clutch and I can see why. We are heading to New Orleans for my bachelorette weekend party, and this piece is coming with me!
Habit Cosmetics 21 Nefertiti – $18: Judging by my gigantic Julep collection, I’m kind of into polish. It’s hard to find a color I don’t have already, so I typically give away most polishes I receive in boxes that are similar to other colors I already have. This color I do not have. This is a color I didn’t know I needed until I saw it in person. It’s a lovely neutral taupe with gold shimmer. It’s the perfect neutral with a kick. Habit is a new brand for me, but I love trying new brands, who knows what will be awesome.
Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment – $22: I wasn’t sure about this one, but Lauren assured me it’s a great product so I gave it a whirl. I am usually really picky about what goes on my face, but Lauren typically knows what’s up (hey girl) so I tried it this morning. Much to my surprise, I loved it. It made my skin super soft and even-toned, and didn’t dry it out despite being an exfoliant. It apparently contains papaya, pineapple, and pumpkin enzymes, as well as rosewood and cinnamon extracts. Sounds delicious? All I know is that it made my skin feel great, and I wish they sent a bigger bottle (this tube is hilariously teeny).
RMS Beauty Living Luminizer & Brightening Brush – $50: Full disclosure, I am not the right person to receive this. I am not worthy. Not only do I not use luminizer, I had to ask Lauren what the hell a luminizer was. Apparently, it is something you put on your face (“or collarbones,” says Lauren) to give a little glow. I haven’t cracked into this one yet, but it seems like a pearly, shimmery cream that gives you a little highlighting. It is one of the more expensive items in the box, so I’ll give it a go and luminize myself at some point. The brush is really tiny, so I may actually use it as a lip brush. I’m not sure why you’d apply a cream to your cheekbones with a brush, that seems like an odd pairing to me.
Droga Chocolates Money on Honey – $7.95: Ok, this seems a little more my speed. Food. “Delight your taste buds and indulge in this wildflower caramel covered in dark chocolate and sprinkled with fleur de sel sea salt,” the insert reads. You know what, POPSUGAR? My taste buds were, in fact, delighted. They’re gone now (rest in peace).
All in all, I am giving this box a resounding A+++. The retail value is $256.45 and I paid $100. That’s pretty great value, considering everything in the box is awesome.
This box was definitely a Christmas present to myself and I can’t wait until my POPSUGAR Must Have December box comes now!
