So, I have a new obsession: ColourPop cosmetics. I had heard about the magical-ness of ColourPop for a long time but only recently, some of my friends in my online group enabled me to buy some of their makeup for myself. The LA-based cosmetics company makes lipstick (or Lippie Stix in their words– I’ll forgive them the word Lippie since their products are awesome), lip pencils, and MAGIC BLUSHES and MAGIC EYE SHADOWS.

While I got some inserts about their blushes, I decided to only start with their eye shadows first. You know, the magic ones.

They even hand write cute notes to their customers.

As I was saying… MAGIC EYE SHADOWS. These eye shadows are really special. They are the most interesting texture I have ever felt. They are sort of a hybrid of a cream and a powder. They are slightly “sponge-y” in nature. The only cosmetic I have ever tried with a similar texture are the Buxom eye shadows that went by dog names. Do you remember those? But ColourPop has so many more options! For my first ColourPop purchase, I decided to get several shades of shimmery browns. (Descriptions taken from the ColourPop website)

Clockwise from the top:

Mooning: A rich blackened bronze highlighted with warm hints of pearlized glitter. I’m not saying you will get kissed under the stars when wearing it – but I’m not, not saying it…….

3: Cool-toned starlit bronze with a flash of silvery and multi-coloured glitter – because sometimes gold and silver are just too mainstream.

Partridge: a Saddle brown undertone with a green duo chrome finish in a Pearlized Finish (pear tree not included)

On the Rocks: Vibrant true bronze with gold and violet glitter. This shade will bring all the boys to the bar.

Mooning, On the Rocks, 3, Partidge

I cannot tell you how much I love these colors! How I get sad when I have to stop putting them on! I know. But I’m telling you, this texture is so neat, you’re going to want to keep playing. And now I get to tell you the very best part… Each wonderful shadow is only $5. I KNOW. Seriously only $5. Now it’s time to convince myself which colors I need to buy next.

I don’t yet have any light ColourPop shades yet. I might need to fix that.

amaze
Amaze: Metallic rose gold with multi-colored multi-dimensional glitter. Whether you fancy yourself a girl next door or a sultry vixen, this shade will satisfy your craving for unique shimmer that flatters in any light.

I haven’t yet bought any matte shades from ColourPop yet. This might be the time. I think this color would make my green eyes pop!

bandit
Bandit: Yippe Ki yay Mother lovers, introducing your new favorite warm rusty brown with a matte finish.

I’m not sure I can rationalize a green eyeshadow but I just love this color!

empire
Empire: Fiercely rich emerald green, just like the city!

Now that I’ve seen Cricket, I’m pretty sure this will be the first one I pick up. I mean, seriously. That is so pretty.

cricket
Cricket: A smoky mid-tone plum with warm and cool highlights of soft glitter. There won’t be any awkward silences when you wear this…

And this is one of the prettiest shades I have ever seen!!! OK, ColourPop! TAKE ALL MY MONEY.

so quiche
So Quiche: A soft olive with a highly reflective gold and pink violet glittery duo chrome metallic finish…there are no words in the dictionary to describe this. Not even urbandictionary.com . Aka: this shade is hotter than hot – the F**king Queen of shadows.

Blue is Matt’s favorite color. Do I get a crazy-beautiful blue eye shadow? I DON’T KNOW ANYMORE.

Rex
Rex: Black drenched with multiple shades of blue glitter, to be perfectly honest, this shadow is just downright badass. No description needed.

Are you obsessed with ColourPop cosmetics yet? Are you already perusing which shadows (or blushes! or lip products!) you are going to buy now? Tell me which colors I need in the comments!
