Lately, I have been really into Vitamin C serums. I always notice how clear they make my skin so when Brandbacker offered me the opportunity to try something new, the Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C Serum, I couldn’t wait to try it. I’ve been using this for several weeks now. I love having the ability to try a product for several weeks so I can truly see how a product works on my skin. That’s why I hate those foil sample packets– you can only see how a product works one time and that’s not normally long enough to see how a product will work on my skin. Anyway… Onto the product!
You’ve probably been hearing the words “Hyaluronic Acid” thrown around a lot these days. That’s because it’s a naturally occurring polysaccharide (carbohydrate) in the human body. It’s present in large amounts in the spaces between skin cells, where it provides moisture, plumpness, firmness and suppleness to the skin.
Applied topically, it increases hydration, improves elasticity and also reverses free radical damage, so it may have some benefit in protecting from UV damage. Bonus? Hyaluronic acid is one ingredient that works across the board. Every skin type, even oily, can benefit. Look for hyaluronic acid serums and apply one alone if you have oily skin or under moisturizer if you have dry skin.
Now that we know why Hyaluronic Acid is so important, let’s look at the serum itself. Let’s start with the presentation. The Oz Naturals Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin C serum comes in a clear glass bottle with a eye dropper dispenser. I like that I can see how much serum is left in the bottle but I am less pleased with the eye dropper dispenser. The serum itself is a thicker jelly type substance and it’s harder to get the serum into the eye dropper for easy application. I feel like a pump would be better in this situation but the eye dropper does work– you just have to work a littler harder at it. 🙂
I LOVE the actual serum though. I use 3-4 drops of it and it’s thin enough that you can wear it underneath makeup and another moisturizer but I feel like it’s moisturizing enough on its own that you may not even need another moisturizer! Some of the marketing materials say this helps eliminate wrinkles but I don’t feel like any topical cream really does that. However, I feel like this is very smoothing and moisturizing and gives me that dewy/glowy look that I love. I feel like the Vitamin C also helps evening out skin tone, which makes skin look even better.
Final Grade: A
I couldn’t be more pleased with the Oz Naturals Hyalaronic Acid + Vitamin C Serum. My skin is in great shape right now and I’ve been using this serum for several weeks so this can’t be a coincidence. 🙂 I definitely recommend picking some up from Amazon, because it’s a bargain at $16.45.
I received this product for free from Brandbacker in exchange for my honest review.
