I’ve been crushing on Glossybox from afar for months. Lauren’s boxes always looked great and folks just get so excited when spoilers come out. It was’t a hard decision to take the plunge and subscribe for a few months. This is my first box from Glossybox and I have to say – I am impressed!

Glossybox is $21/month for a month-to-month subscription, or a little less if you subscribe for multiple months at a time. I did the 6-month subscription with a discount code and it ended up being around $17/box. Not too bad for 5 luxury beauty products a month. This box is a bit of a splurge for me with all the subscriptions I currently receive, but I really love my first box and so far it’s totally worth it.

Etre Belle Cosmetics – Aloe Vera Ultra Moisturizing Gel – $24.95: This lightweight hydrating gel is so great for summer! I hate the feeling of a heavy lotion during the steamy months, so hydrating gels are totally my jam. It’s no secret that aloe vera is amazing for your skin, especially if you’ve got a tan going on (I wouldn’t know anything about that, thanks to my pasty pale Slovak heritage).

City Cosmetics – City Lips in Clear – $35.00: I’m not super familiar with City Cosmetics, but I’ve seen the brand around. I love trying new brands (especially the $$$$ ones) through subscription boxes, it’s one of the best perks in subscribing to the luxury boxes. This gloss uses natural “enhancers” to stimulate lasting collage production to promote soft, full lips. I love that this gloss is clear, it makes it super versatile for every day use.

Nexxus NY Salon Care – Color Assure Restoring Conditioner – $9.99: This is really the only item I was originally “meh” about in this box, but I’ve since changed my mind. I don’t have color-treated hair, but I LOVE ultra-hydrating conditioners. This formula is extremely moisturizing, which is the key to killer volume. Infused with white orchid oil, it leaves my hair so soft and full, plus it smells SO GOOD. I wouldn’t call Nexxus a luxury item, but I did end up enjoying it.

Orly Nail Lacquer – $3.99: This color is so cute. It’s barely pink, super girly, and perfect summer. I’m a Julep girl, but I’ve dabbled with Orly at salons before – the formula is great. This is a half-sized bottle, which is perfect for traveling.

Too Faced Cosmetics – Better Than Sex Mascara – $5.99 (deluxe sample): This mascara is legit. I don’t know if it’s the shape of the brush, the formula, or a little of each, but this mascara really fattens up your lashes. It also doesn’t flake off or smear during the day. I’ve mentioned this about 600 times before, but I have lash extensions and don’t wear mascara, so I’ll be giving this to my sister (that lucky girl).

Final Rating: A

This box kicked ass. The retail value was $79.92 and I paid $17 for it. As far as subscription boxes go, value like that is hard to find, especially with such pretty packaging. I am REALLY excited to try a couple of the products I received, and everything seems appropriate for the summer season.
