Oh, Birchbox. You’ve done it again with your pretty boxes! And thank you. I agree that I AM beautiful. Thank you for noticing.
This month, Birchbox is celebrating me! Well, all of their subscribers. And to thank us, they included a 20% off coupon to their shop! I think I have about $20 to spend there anyway since you can earn $5 each month for reviewing your box samples and you can earn even more points (which translate to dollars) by referring friends!

What I also like about the Birchbox shop is they sell fun home/lifestyle products too! So if I feel like I have too much makeup or hair stuff, I can buy some Rifle Paper Company products also!  I’ve always really liked Birchbox’s packaging. It’s definitely like opening a present with the little box inside the other box. It’s just those small details that make opening each Birchbox such a treat.

Here are all the products I received this month!

TOCCA Esfoliante da Corpo – Giulietta ($32/full-size): When I first saw this product, I assumed it was a hand cream and I soon realized it was an exfoliating product. But it smells sooooo good! It says Pink Tulip + Green Apple and it has such a pleasant scent. This exfoliating body wash is sugar-based but it also has crushed olive granules.

RUSK Elixir Mist ($24/full-size): I’m afraid this product is going to make my hair super greasy based on the customer reviews. I think if I had a different hair type, this would work better but I need TEXTURE not something that will make my hair even more smooth. I’ll donate this.

René Furterer ABSOLUE KÉRATINE Sublime Renewal Leave-in Cream ($40/full-size): Sometimes I get annoyed because Birchbox has us fill out a questionnaire about what kind of products we prefer and I have straight, fine hair that does NOT need a leave in cream conditioner. (Or that shine spray, for that matter.) I’m disappointed that I’ve received two products this month that I won’t be using. I think this would be great for someone with course, dry hair but that’s not me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Perfect Brow Pencil ($23/full-size): This was my sample choice this month and I’m really pleased with it. The color is perfect (and the color I use in the full-size version) so I’m pleased to have a purse-friendly size to keep on hand for on-the-go touch ups.

100% Pure Organic Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream ($25/full size): This was a nice eye cream. I like the idea of adding the caffeine to help perk up tired eyes. The formula is meant to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles.

Final Grade: C

I’m kind of annoyed with Birchbox this month because of the hair products they included that won’t ever work for me. They know I have fine, straight hair (based on my profile) but they still send stuff that will never work. Annoying. However, I’m pleased with the Anastasia brow pencil, the TOCCA exfoliating body wash and the 100% Pure Eye cream so it wasn’t a total loss. (Plus that 20% off coupon code!)
