Every now and then I like to evaluate the things I received from boxes that have made their way into my regular every day routine so I can share them with you. Not everything we get from boxes is a winner but this blog does expose us to so many products so I like to be able to share the best of the best with y’all.

Here are the products that I am reaching for regularly:

NCLA So Rich Vitamin E Infused Cuticle Oil

NCLA So Rich Vitamin E Infused Cuticle Oil

I just got this cuticle oil the other day and I’ve been using it every day since then. I can’t tell you how good it smells. I hope it doesn’t bother my co-workers but I use it several times a day because my hands/cuticles get so dry from washing. I like Julep’s cuticle oil but I LOVE NCLA’s. #Truth.

pixi glow tonic

Pixi Glow Tonic

This stuff is wonderful. Not only does it smell good it makes my skin feel great after washing. I can’t tell yet if it’s improving my skin for the long haul, but I’ve had a few issues that seem to have diminished a bit since I started using this. I’m hoping it can help continue to fade some residual acne scars I have on my chin. #AdultAcneIsNotFun

olay regenerist luminous

Olay Regenerist Luminous Dark Circle Correcting Hydraswirl

I have been using this stuff every day and night since I received it in a Target Beauty Box. I occasionally use a different cream at night but I mostly reach for this! I don’t really have a dark circle issue but I like that it has that pearl finish that helps reflect light, which is important to me around the eye area. It’s also really moisturizing and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. I occasionally have weird dry eyelid issues and I’ve noticed that I haven’t had that since I started using this.

Light On Your Lips Full Coverage Crème Lipstick

Months ago, I received a Light On Your Lips lipstick from Julep but it was a bad color on me and I kind of forgot about it. It is sitting in a box in my closet right now. That is one of the bad things about ordering lipstick in the mail from companies where it is really difficult to send back. (Unlike Sephora, which has the best return policy of all time.) Anyway, Julep recently released some awesome Fall colors and decided it was time to try again. I have worn them a LOT since receiving them and I have received many compliments on both.

Ryan Adams 1989

OK, you caught me. I didn’t buy this in a box. But I cannot (and will not) stop listening to Ryan Adams’ interpretation of Taylor Swift’s album. I have a LOT of thoughts about how interesting this whole situation is. First, has anyone ever re-recorded someone’s whole album so soon after the initial release? Second, I would have never put the two of them in a room. Ostensibly, they have a few things in common since they are both musicians but just so wildly different. She is a pop princess paparazzi darling whereas he’s the sort of sad bastard alt country dude who never really looks all that clean with a very special breed of snobby fans. Of course, I love Taylor Swift, so I am psyched that someone like Ryan Adams appreciated the album. I feel like this gives her a bit of validation that she doesn’t NEED but I like that some music snobs may give her songwriting a second look. And I also like that Taylor Swift fans may now be exposed to Ryan Adams’ music that they may never have discovered before. This could totally broaden some musical horizons! And I think that is great.

It will take me a bit to totally digest this but initial thoughts:
Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods” > Ryan Adams’ “Out of the Woods”
Ryan Adams’ “Bad Blood” > Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”

So those are some of my favorite things right now. Are there any products I need to try ASAP? Are you as enthralled with the 1989 situation as I am? What is your favorite version? Let me know in the comments!
