I tend to forget about my Walmart Beauty Boxes for a number of reasons. First, they are quarterly, so I’m not anxiously awaiting them every month. And second, they are only $5 so I don’t really miss that from my bank account. That is less than what I spend at Starbucks on the weekends. But the fact that I forget about the box makes it even more of a surprise when it shows up at my door! Walmart typically releases two types of boxes, though they don’t specify it on their site: a “younger” version and an “older” version. Since you are asked to enter your birthday, this is how they determine which box you will get. I’ve always gotten the younger version so today I changed my birthday year in my profile to see if I can get the older version next time. The older version usually contains more skincare and anti-aging which I am more interested in than some of the other products. So we’ll see if changing my birthday changed which box I will receive.
Let’s see what I got this month:
I feel like this is a lot of stuff for $5 that I forgot I spent.
Schick Hydro Silk Disposable Razor: Shavers gotta shave, eh? Sorry. That is a bad joke from Bachelorette/Bachelor in Paradise where one of the guys was like, “Villains gotta vil.” What does that even mean? At least my version makes sense. Long story short: me have hair. Me shave off hair with razor. Me happy.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes: I’m always down to receive facial wipes in a box because that’s how I remove my eye makeup. I wear eye makeup every day. Hence, I will always need cleansing facial wipes. I’ve never used Simple’s til now but I liked them.
Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Antiperspirant/Deodorant: I am glad when I receive little deodorants in boxes because I tend to keep them at my desk at work. Are you ever in such a rush to get to work that you realize that you forgot deodorant by the time you get there? That happens to me sometimes, which is why I started keeping some at work. Problem solved.
Aussie Mega Hairspray: I’m not a huge fan of Aussie products so I probably won’t be using this hairspray. Plus, I’m pretty set on hair spray for awhile so I will probably donate this.
Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara: This is another product that I’m not going to test out because I know I will just want to donate it anyway. I just know now that no mascara is going to be better than this one so I hardly bother trying anymore!
Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer: I have heard good things about this stuff– or maybe I just believe that I will look like Jennifer Aniston if I start using it. I know people who love this stuff but when I’ve tried it in the past, it felt just a bit too heavy for me.
Each Walmart Beauty Box always comes with a variety of foil packet samples: Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask, Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer, Crest 3D White Brilliance set, Nivea Enriched Moisture. I’ll probably try a few but they aren’t worth reviewing separately.
Final Grade: B
The Walmart Beauty Box is not nearly as exciting to me as the Target Beauty Boxes but I do like that it’s an actual subscription AND it’s only $5.
And for $5 I got a razor and some cleansing wipes that I will definitely use and a little deodorant that I can keep in my desk. Not too shabby for forgetting I spent $5 on this.

Lauren
