Everyone always asks me what my favorite box is or which box I would recommend, and I have long said Allure Beauty Box! This may change because of the new Play! by Sephora but it’s not widely available yet so Allure Beauty Box is still my beauty box go-to.  If you are just joining us, Allure Beauty Box sends deluxe samples and the occasional full-size beauty products from high end and reputable brands for just $15/month. While I love my Birchbox, sometimes they send things from strange/unknown brands. I like to try the fancy stuff and Allure sends that consistently!

I have always loved the Allure Mini-Mag that’s included that describes all the products and how to use them. This is way better than a single-sheet card. And Allure is my favorite magazine so I feel like I get a bonus magazine every month.

Check out the Allure Mini-Mag! You can see how detailed their product descriptions are. I love it!
And here’s everything I got!   Hanae by Hanae Mori ($92/full-size)

Sometimes I like getting perfume samples in boxes just to become more familiar with brands I don’t really know. I had never heard of Hanae Mori before but it’s priced very high end, so I was curious. The scent itself was not my favorite. Very sweet, almost cloyingly so. They describe it as: “The scent blends sugary nectars and sunny fruits with the subtle impression of vanilla and toffee to create a brilliant floral confection.”  So it’s not just me that thinks it’s sweet– I mean, that is a lot of sweet things in one scent! But I’m sure there are people out there that are into this. At least I got to try a new brand!

 L’Occitane Divine Youth Oil ($106/full-size)

I’ve enjoyed this face oil. And the full-size price tag is sort of blowing my mind. So I think I will use all of this. It’s a moisturizing oil but it sinks in if you give it a minute. I don’t feel like I did a great job, so I went to the product’s site to see what I might be missing, since the price point is so high.

This luxurious Immortelle Divine Youth Oil improves visible signs of aging including fine lines and wrinkles while hydrating and refreshing. Paired with a complex of seven natural plant oils that are selected for their high concentration of essential fatty acids and nutrients, its lightweight and silky texture melts seamlessly into the skin. The result is skin that looks more radiant, smooth, and youthful.

I’m interested in trying it out for awhile to see if my skin has any improvements!

Crabtree & Evelyn Verbena and Lavender De Provence Bath and Shower Gel ($22/full-size)

I’ve gotten several Crabtree and Evelyn products in boxes recently. And they are all sort of strange scents. Like, the sort of scents that maybe belong in subscription boxes. This smells more tangy than lavender. And I’m unclear if lavender and verbena should be in a scent together. It’s not horrible- I keep using it. But I almost keep using it to figure out WHY I keep using it.

Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity ($25/full-size)

I am always looking for volumizing products but in already concerned that this one is called Anti-Gravity. I want all the gravity. Give me more gravity. This felt more like a styling cream than any sort of volumizing product to me. But I use products like that and this sample is a great size.

Klorane Floral Eye Make-Up Remover ($16/full-size)

This is a nice eye make-up remover but I just don’t care for liquid ones. I prefer using make-up remover cloths from the drugstore. I’m very high-low sometimes.

Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick ($20/full-size)

I was fired up to get a liquid lipstick in a color that actually works for me without having to pick it! This is such a pretty Christmas-y red color. However, I did feel like this particular liquid lipstick was kind of hard to use. It was a bit more glossy so I felt like it was all over the place. I haven’t given up because the color is awesome. But initial thoughts lead me to not want to buy a full size.  Mally Beauty High-Shine Liquid Lipstick ($20/full-size)

Here is the Mally liquid lipstick swatch.

Final Grade: A

The Allure Beauty Box does it again! I’m psyched to try a really pricy facial oil for a few weeks, and I am so glad I received a liquid lipstick in a color I actually love! And a box finally got the memo that I want bigger hair and included a volumizing product, which I love. The eye make-up remover wasn’t for me but that was just personal preference. I’m sure I can gift it to someone who would love it.
