Play! by Sephora has quickly become my favorite box, and after you read this month’s review, you’ll see why!
If you are just joining us, here is some info about the Play! by Sephora box! The most important and best part is that it’s only $10/month! Slightly disappointing news is that I think there is still a waitlist, but you can sign up here.
Some of the benefits of joining PLAY! by Sephora:
- The awesome products, of course
- The $10 you spend earns you Beauty Insider points if you are already part of their rewards program. (I’m VIB Rouge because I clearly have A Problem buying makeup.)
- Each month you will also receive a card that you can bring into Sephora that will earn you 50 additional bonus points on your purchase!
- The PLAY! BOOK rivals the Allure Beauty Box Mini Mag. It’s that good.
This month’s theme is “The Exclusives.” The Play! by Sephora box has a curated selection of products that can only be found at Sephora!
Here is a picture of just one page of the awesome booklet included with the box. There are so many tips and tricks inside!
Here’s everything I got! You’ll see in my review that a lot of the products are not new to me this month, but they happened to include many of my very favorite products so I’m very happy with my box! Stella by Stella McCartney Perfume $72
I’ve always loved Stella! This is one of my all-time favorite scents! My current favorite scent is Kate Spade’s Live Colorfully, but I have continuously gone back to Stella. I have bought at least 4 bottles of this in my life and I currently have the rollerball version in my purse. This is definitely one of my holy grail scents.
Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil Full-Size/$40
I’ve used Josie Maran Argan Oil since it came out. In fact, I think Josie Maran started the whole oil craze. Back in the old days, everyone thought oil was terrible for your skin and would make oily skin even oilier and it would make breakouts worse. Of course, now we all know that’s not true and different facial oils can be great for skin. Also in the old days, whenever I would get a zit, I would use drying zit creams to dry the heck out of it, then not only the zit would dry out but the surrounding skin would, too. (I’m sure y’all can relate.) These days, when I get a zit, I just put a little argan oil on it for a few days until it’s run its course. My skin has been saved! You can also use this multi-tasking oil on hair, cuticles, all over your face– the possibilities are endless.
Bite Beauty Lip Pencil in Rhubarb $24/full-size
I love Bite Beauty lip products. And I never, ever use up a full-size lip product so I love receiving high-end lipstick samples in my boxes. The Rhubarb color is a great berry color that is awesome for every day Fall looks. I love this.
Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Dolly $22.99/full-size
This used to be one of my all-time favorite lip glosses! I swear, I have bought this at least three or four times. It’s one of those colors that is like your lips but better. It also tingles a little bit but nothing crazy. I used to always have this in my purse or in my desk. Receiving it again in this month’s box might restore my obsession!
Here are swatches of Rhubarb (top) and Dolly (bottom)
Make Up For Ever Step 1 Primer $36/full-size
I am still on a quest for a great primer and I love Make Up For Ever products so I am looking forward to trying this guy. I will report back if it turns out to be an awesome primer that we all need to run out and buy.
Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12HR Wear Waterproof in My Boyfriend’s Jeans $10/full-size
This is the one product in the box I have absolutely no use for. I don’t wear blue eyeliner, even sporadically, so I’ll end up donating this.
Final Grade: A+
With the weird inclusion of a blue eyeliner, I loved every product that was included in this month’s Play! by Sephora box! I think the value of this box is insane and I think everyone needs to subscribe as soon as you are able! Have you been able to receive Play! by Sephora yet? Do you love it as much as I do? Let me know in the comments!

Sub boxes with waitlists are terrible and make zero sense. I’m probably gonna be waiting on this one (and Macy’s) for months because of that whole marketing “drum up interest” thing.
Ugh. Stuff and things.
Yeah, Jill is also on the waitlist. I hope they start letting people in soon! I didn’t start the Macy’s one because I think I am maxed out on beauty boxes now. I stopped getting Glossybox and ELF Beauty Bundle because I was never using their products. Then I started subbing in Golden Tote because I am now obsessed with it.
Wonderful blog and outstanding design and style. Thanks for sharing!
