Ahhh, Love With Food. That time of the month where the sun shines brighter, the birds chirp louder, and the snack-shaped hole in my heart shrinks to a manageable size.
This box comes packed with tasty snacks in a few different sizes and shapes – the regular tasting box ($8-10/month), a deluxe tasting box with twice as many samples (around $16), and a gluten-free option (around $19). I stick to the regular tasting box. As a bonus, LWF donates a meal to a hungry child for every box that they sell. I mean, really. Just stop being so perfect already (no, don’t stop).
This month’s theme is “Love is Kind”, which makes no sense except that it does – LWF themes literally never make sense or fit in any way with the boxes they send, so it is par for the course. Regardless, the box is great (as usual). Let’s see what I got!
Hard Candies by GoOrganic – My husband literally squealed when he saw that LWF sent us another bag of these hard candies. When they included a bag of apple candies a few months back, he graciously shared like one or two with me as he hoarded the bag with Gollum-like obsession. Cherry is way better than apple, so he can expect an uprising if he tries to keep them all for himself again. I should mention that this is a full-sized bag, no sample size here.
Tomato & Onion Bruschetta by Dipin – This kind of snack is my favorite. It’s a super tasty tub of goodness that has no rules. There aren’t any crackers or bread-type product included, so how I want to eat it is up to me. Dip some pita chips in it? I can do that. Put it on my morning eggs? Let freedom ring, because I can do that too. If I want to live life to the extreme and put it on a baked potato NOTHING CAN STOP ME.
Handmade Sea Salt Caramel by Annie B’s – This is the double wide of caramels. It’s one caramel about the length of 2. Measuring at just under 4 inches, this caramel wins the record for The Longest Caramel That I Have Ever Seen. Also, pretty tasty.
Granola Cookie 2 Pack by Nothin’ But Foods – Nothing can prepare you for the moment you realized you were lied to about cookies. It’s a betrayal unlike any other, and it cuts especially deep when the cookie you were promised turns out to be a health food. I’ve been loopy on cold medicine all week, but when I saw the word “cookies” on this pack, I assumed that cookies would be what is inside – not cookie-shaped granola bars. Regardless, I ate them and cursed the Nothin’ But Foods name with every bite.
Corn and Sea Salt Chips by The Better Chip – Ok, slow your roll there a little, The Better Chip. You might be better, but you’re still a corn chip, and unless you get into Frito range, there’s only so high that bar can reach. I have this problem where no matter how disinterested I am in a boring corn chip, if I have a jar of salsa near me I am not going to stop eating them until every last drop of salsa is gone. It’s my life’s burden.
Original Premium Smoked Pork Snack Stick by DiMario Foods – I almost hyperventilated when I saw that there was a pork stick in my LWF box. I don’t think LWF has EVER sent meat before, and by god this was a glorious moment. I ripped into that thing before stopping to consider the fact that it was called a “premium smoked pork snack stick”, which is probably the most unappetizing name they could have come up with. It was not so much great as it was novel, and I regret nothing.
Mini Wafers by Loacker – If anyone ever hears me say, “chocolate wafer cookies? No thank you!” please call 911 because I’m obviously sending a coded distress message. Chocolate wafer cookies are THE BEST – I don’t care how tiny this little pack is, it’s hands down my favorite item in this month’s box.
Mini Chocolates by Ritter Sport – I think Ritter is selling itself short, these chocolates aren’t THAT mini. They’re like 1.5″x1.5″ which is a pretty fair snack size, given there are two AND they have chopped hazelnuts. Sweet!
Final Rating: A+
All of the Premium Smoked Pork Snack Sticks in the world can’t bring down my rating of Love With Food. This box comes crammed with deliciousness each month and they’re generous to boot. Keep up the good work, LWF!
