It’s Love With Food time (or, as I call it, snack-o’clock)! This box is awesome not only for the good they do, but also for how great its contents are – each box is packed with tasty snacks and arrives monthly for $8-$19, depending on what you’d like to receive. I stick to the regular $8 tasting box and have never been disappointed.
Not only is Love With Food pretty affordable but they also give some good juju back to the world by donating a box to a hungry child for each box sold (last month they reached over 1 million)! Let’s see what we got this month, shall we?
Rosemary & Sea Salt Pork Clouds by Bacon’s Heir – I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed these without prefacing it by saying how much I’ve always hated pork rinds. They’ve always been weirdly chewy with hard bits and uneven texture. The flavor is always… musky, to be kind, and I’ve just regretted ordering them after the first bite. But then came these pork clouds, which is the best name ever for them. They melt in your mouth with a fatty savoriness that is just so damn satisfying. I’m sure that sounds disgusting but I promise they’re incredible, good enough to justify buying a full sized bag.
Pitted Green Olives by Olympos – This pack was big enough to be a satisfying snack and the olives were marinated in oil and herbs. The olives were fresh and tasty!
Lemon Wafer Bites by Dolcetto – YESSSS I love it when Love With Food sends me lemon wafers! These are the best. Tiny, crunchy little lemon filled wafers that are both a great snack and awesome dessert.
Strawberry Fig Bar by Nature’s Bakery – I bit into this and as my pupils dilated I thought, “So this is what a Fig Newton is supposed to taste like!” Soft cookie, gooey fig and strawberry center… OMG I could have eaten 10 of these.
Original Naan Crisps by Stonefire Flatbreads – I ate these little naan crackers paired with hummus and I couldn’t help but be totally amused by how they are naan-shaped. Each tiny cracker looks exactly like a tiny version of naan. Delicious AND hilarious.
Fruit Snacks by Horizon Organic – Love With Food loves Horizon Organic, and so now do I. These fruit snacks taste like actual fruit juice, not artificial flavoring. They’re softer than gummies you’re probably used to, but that’s because they are made of actual food.
Almond Roca Buttercrunch Toffee with Almonds by Brown & Haley – The package and name appears to be straight out of the 60s but the taste is actually awesome. The toffee is crunchy but light, not uncomfortably jamming up inside your teeth, plus it’s got chocolate! Boom. Perfect.
Peppermint Salt Water Taffy by Salty Road – I was really confused about why this taffy tasted like peppermint because I read the package wrong and thought they were pomegranate. Those flavors are not at all similar, so it was a little like drinking Sprite when you’re anticipating water (i.e. unpleasant to the max), but once I realized my mistake I ended up liking them quite a bit.
Final Rating: A
I will never give Love With Food a lower rating than an A because they literally jam the box full of delicious snacks month after month. Plus they feed hungry children, which is a pretty rad thing to do. Can’t wait for next month!
