I can’t tell you how excited I was when Brandbacker let me know that I was going to be a part of the MAKE Beauty campaign! I’ve been seeing MAKE Beauty products at Birchbox and Nasty Gal, and so I’ve been really curious about the brand.

And because MAKE is awesome, they are offering our readers a generous 20% off site-wide for Makebeauty.com using code MAKEYOURSELF through April 15.

MAKE believes there are no beauty rules. That each individual is driven by an artistic approach to their own personal reality. That it’s beautiful to be inspired by your imagination. To embrace a whimsical approach to life. To be outspoken, intelligent, confident and un-self conscious. MAKE is made in our hometown, New York City. All MAKE products are paraben-free and never tested on animals. And as a bonus, 10% of sales are donated to the We See Beauty Foundation, supporting women-led, worker-owned cooperative businesses across the Americas. How cool is that?

I was so happy to try two MAKE products: their Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster and their Silk Cream Lipstick in Taffy. They did send the tiniest samples of all time, but they are just as adorable as they are hilarious, so I’m not complaining. And I like their modern, clean lines.

I loved the Silk Cream lipstick! Taffy is a great pinky nude that works really well with my coloring. Some nudes are too orange and just don’t work for me. As for the Matte Finish Eyeshadow in Alabaster… I think I might be a bit too alabaster myself for this to show up really well. But while this is a powder shadow, the formula was really smooth.
Here are some swatches… and if you can see the Alabaster, good for you and your eyesight!

I had to include this picture with the dime for scale because these samples are hilariously tiny. Great, but so tiny.

As I was browsing the Makebeauty.com site and was pleasantly surprised to see how many products they have, so I’m excited to use my 20% code! (Remember, the code is: MAKEYOURSELF) They have every product you can think of, and if packaging is important to you, theirs is some of the coolest I’ve seen. Like, you’ll definitely see the cool girls whip out some of these MAKE products. (Which is probably why it’s also sold at Nasty Gal.) I’m also pretty obsessed with this Terrazzo Matte Eyeshadow. How pretty is that? I’m also pretty interested in this Post-Impression palette.

I’m a fan of MAKE Beauty! And if you haven’t already, you should definitely follow their Instagram. It’s full of beauty inspiration and you’ll love it.
