If you’ve ever wanted to try Popsugar Must Have but was hesitant because of the price tag, you’re in luck. Popsugar FINALLY announced a mini version of the Must Have box! They swear there will never be any crossover between the regular Must Have and the Mini, so of course I had to sign up for it (I’m weak, don’t judge).
The Must Have Mini is $19.95 (as opposed to the regular $39.95 box) and contains two full-sized products each month. The regular box has around 6-8 products of varying levels of awesomeness, but the Mini seems to be focusing on lifestyle and beauty products specifically.
One of the things about Popsugar that makes it one of my all-time favorite subscription boxes is the high value of products in each box. There is never a doubt that the box will be anything less than about 3 or 4 times the monthly cost, and the products are always so great that even if there’s something that I don’t love, it’s bound to make a great gift for someone I know. Alright, let’s see what the launch looked like!
White Melon Pantry Candle by Greenmarket Purveying Co. – $16.00: I can handle a good candle maybe once a year. I don’t ever buy them because I inevitably I will never use them and they will gather dust until we have a power outage. This particular candle is actually one I like and plan to use! This candle is downright summery. According to the packaging it has notes of melon, peach, citrus, and vanilla, but let’s be real, it’s mostly melon.
I thought this was a cool touch – each candle is labeled and numbered by batch. I am totally into small-batch products like the good little yuppie I am, and the fact that these soy candles are hand-poured makes me swoon.
Lip Bloom by Farmacy – $16.50: I am so sad about this lip balm! I have a sensitivity to castor oil, which is the main ingredient in this yummy smelling balm, so I have to gift it. I love the combo of lavender and mint, but alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
I do really like this packaging though. I am a sucker for good marketing, and the solid tub combined with thoughtful packaging that includes information about the source of the ingredients is awesome.
Final Rating: A
I wasn’t a huge fan of the spoilers but once the box arrived I really liked it. The retail value of these two products is just over $32, and while that’s not the huge value we normally see in the regular Must Have box, it’s certainly a bit more than the price of the Mini and the quality of the products definitely makes up for that. I am a little sad that I can’t use half of the products, but that’s not Popsugar’s fault. I thought I’d give the Mini one month to see how it did, and I was impressed! I think I’ll keep my subscription going for another month and see how the May box is!

Jill
