Last month, I made a mistake with my Julep box, when I didn’t get as much fun polish and beauty products. However, I want to make it really clear, because thanks to Julep’s fully customizable box, that was my own damn fault.
The Julep Maven program allows you to customize a box of 2-3 nail polishes and other beauty products for just $24.99/month. However, Julep just rewarded some of their long-time Mavens with special discounted box pricing, so I think my base box is now $20/month, which was the price it was when I first joined, prior to the customizable boxes! They also allow you to add the appropriately named “Add-On” products to your box for extremely discounted prices. You also earn points or “Jules” for taking your monthly boxes and you can apply these Jules to purchases.
This month, I added 1 Add-On to my box but also applied my remaining Jules which brought the total of my box to right around $28.98. Julep will also reward you for adding the three Add-Ons to your box and give you another polish, but I didn’t do that this month.
The polishes I got this month were Pepper (cornflower multidimensional shimmer) and Francine (seaglass iridescent chrome).
I wore Pepper to a wedding I went to recently and boy, it is GORGEOUS. I mean, seriously. The wedding was INCREDIBLY lovely, but so was my nail polish and I was a bit distracted by the way it shone in the sunlight.
I’m going to be honest with you, I kind of bought this base coat by accident. I thought the Oxygen Bonding Base Coat might have been making my nails a little weak, so I thought I would try going back to the Oxygen Smoothing Base Coat. But THEN, I decided I would try a base coat out of the Julep realm and so I bought the Seche Clear base coat. I thought I had updated my Julep order to delete this one, but here we are. I use a lot of base coat, so it will get used. But so far, I really love the Seche base coat! Further reviews to come soon.
I was so so so excited to try Your Lip Addiction in Obsessed. Lip oils are the new thing right now and I LOVE this. As previously mentioned, I think I’m going to invest in the Lancôme Lip Shakers because they have a few more colors than Julep, but I think I am also going to invest in the other Julep shades, Covet and Crave.
Here are the swatches this month, but the lip oil, in Obsessed is a little mis-leading. I swatched on a piece of paper, and oil + paper doesn’t totally give the best results. The lip oil is actually very sheer and pretty, and very moisturizing.
Final Grade: A
I loved everything I picked this month, especially Pepper. I can’t wait to try Francine because it is soooo pretty, too. And I can’t wait to see what Julep releases next month! And if you are interested in signing up for Julep, click here!
