Oh, how I love my June Birchbox! Sometimes in this subscription box life we lead, there is a gamble. You never know what you are going to get! This is part of the fun but also, you can be hit with some doozies. The June Birchbox is one of those rare moments when the stars align and you just love every product they send!
If you are just now joining us, Birchbox sends out deluxe, high-end samples at $10/month. One of the great things about Birchbox is you can earn points for writing product reviews which translates to money to spend in their store where you can purchase full-sized items beauty and lifestyle items just by giving some feedback about what you received. We love giving our opinions, so this works well for Jill and I.
Along with the product card, they also included a little info packet about Benefit’s new brow line. But let’s check out everything they sent this month- It’s one of my favorite boxes I’ve ever gotten!
Oh man, I just love this box.
Davines Authentic Cleansing Nectar Hair/Body ($28/full-size): First of all, for a sample, this little bottle is damn pretty. Now that that’s out of the way, this is a sort of herb-y scented gel that can be used as shampoo or body wash. Ummm… maybe I am snobby but I will NEVER use something on my hair that could also be used on my body. These are different things! I definitely use a special shampoo and conditioner on my color-treated hair, so I’ll definitely be using this as a body wash. if anything.
Davines Authentic Moisturizing Balm Face/Hair/Body ($26.50/full-size): I’m even more confused about this product than the previous one because this is a cream that can be used on the face, hair OR body. Ummmm I would NEVER put something on my face that I use on my hair or body. LOLz. But this might be a nice lotion!
Isn’t this bottle so pretty? It smells kind of… earthy so I’m not sure this is going to be my favorite body wash but I am going to try it for sure. And I’ll definitely re-use this bottle!
NUXE Rêve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel Full-size ($19/full-size): You know, you really can’t ever have too many face washes. You probably know by now I am pretty compulsive about washing my face. I never, ever go to bed without washing my face, and I wash every morning in the shower or at the sink (if I showered the night before.) This was pretty good at dissolving makeup, dirt and oil without making my skin too dry.
Air Repair Complexion Boosting Moisturizer ($21/full-size): I haven’t used this yet but I am looking forward to using it when I get ready in the mornings after the gym. It feels ultra moisturizing but not super thick, so I think it will wear well under makeup!
The Beauty Crop PBJ Smoothie Stick – Raisin the Roof ($14.95/FULL SIZE!): I have been jealous because I feel like Jill has received products from this brand in her box and they are so adorable. I am pleased that I got a FULL SIZED lip balm stick in a color that I can actually use! This is a big time score in the subscription box land. I can’t tell you how many full-sized products I’ve received in colors that make me look dead. This is a nice change. And the smoothie design is just totally adorable. (Swatch below!)
LOC One & Done Shadow Stick ($10/FULL SIZE!): This is my absolute favorite thing in my box this month. I received another One & Done Shadow Stick in Warm Copper in a different box and I swear I wear it every day. It’s a great color for the inner eye, and Matt always compliments me when I wear it. This color is definitely a bit more dramatic but it’s sooooo pretty! I love the shimmery bronze color and I think it will look really flattering with my green eyes. (Swatch below!)
Here are the swatches of the PBJ Smoothie Stick and LOC One & Done Shadow Stick.
Final Grade: A+!
This is one of my very favorite Birchboxes in a long time. I am excited to use every single product that I received, so I am really happy. They also sent two full-sized makeup products, with a value of $25 just on their own, which more than makes up for the $10 cost. I’m looking forward to bringing the other products into my routine as well.
