Jill and I have been crazy busy lately and our two year blog anniversary sort of came and went through the chaos but we wanted to take a moment to thank our readers for taking this “journey” (if I can take an expression from reality TV) with us. We’d be nowhere without you and we love what we do. It’s fun for us to look back at past entries and see how far we’ve come. We’ve gone through so many different life events through the course of this blog, so it’s fun to think about where we’ll go this year!

And just for fun, I’ll share a few products I’ve been loving lately…

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II ($62/$92)

I got this stuff in my August Allure Beauty Box which I totally forgot to review. It wouldn’t have mattered because I never put this on til last week. I guess I never really thought about Estée Lauder because in my mind, it’s kind of old lady-ish in a way? I don’t know why I think that, it’s just not a brand I typically think about. I have been struggling so much with a bout of cystic acne after going off of a steroid and then I picked with my face and it was just a DISASTER. Then randomly, I picked this up out of pure desperation, honestly, and seriously, my skin looked better OVERNIGHT. I don’t say that about a lot of products but it was incredible. Obviously all of my issues weren’t fixed overnight but they are getting better and better as time goes on. I bought the full size pretty much immediately. Highly recommend.

Tarte Little Mist Sunshine Self-Tanning Spray + Mitt ($39)

Self-tanners are historically known to be stinky and streaky. This shiz is neither. First and foremost, it’s clear. This is both good and bad. The good is that it doesn’t get on your clothes or sheets. The bad? Well, it’s kind of hard to see where you have sprayed it. However. the mitt that comes with the spray helps you rub everything in which definitely helps you prevent missed spots. Another thing that I really like about this stuff is that it’s kind of subtle. Some people think of that as a negative thing because they aren’t immediately dark brown, but I am so pale that I would look strange if I was immediately dark brown. It’s like me but a little better. You can always put on two coats to get a little darker shade but it’s not outrageous.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita ($20)

I realize this is not a groundbreaking product since makeup artists and gurus have all raved about this stuff. I had previously tried a Kat Von D liquid lipstick and I was NOT a fan. But it seems like she reformulated the product since then because this goes on really smoothly and wears really well. It has a matte finish and while doesn’t have a typical “long wear” time, it tends to stay put. The color is really cool, too. It has that brownish 90s thing going on that’s really in right now. I’m a fan. I just bought the brick red Project Chimps shade, which benefits Project Chimps, a charity that helps retire biomedical research chimps to a life of freedom. I don’t have it, so I can’t review it yet but since I love the formula so much, I am very excited!

Lauren
