I am having a super rare month where I love every subscription box I’ve gotten so far. The stars rarely align in that way, so I am extremely excited. Birchbox has noticeably been getting better and better – they’ve improved their customization process so boxes are becoming more personalized each month.

BIRCHBOX

Price: $10/month

Box Type: Beauty products, 5-6 deluxe samples

Why you’ll love it: Top brands, good sized samples of solid products. Their new customization process learns what you like so when you review your boxes on birchbox.com you’ll guarantee more personalized boxes. Plus, you can pick a sample you’d love to see in your box or select a pre-made box instead of leaving it to chance!

This month was all about multi-tasking with multi-purpose products that work overtime so you can breeze through your morning routine. I’m not really a fan of box themes because they rarely actually stick to that theme (it has become a hilarious pet peeve of mine), and this one is a bit of a stretch. But either way, it’s a great box! Let’s see what I got.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser ($25 for full size and $7.50 for cloth): This is the kind of sample size I like to see! The full size is 3.3 oz, so this 1 oz sample is pretty awesome. Plus it came with a cleansing cloth which is sold separately! I have found that some oil cleansers are too astringent for my sensitive skin, but this one is super moisturizing and soothing. My skin felt clean and soft after without feeling dry. The sample is big enough to last for quite a while too! This product is supposedly a cult classic, I can definitely see why.

Macadamia Professional Ultra Rich Moisture Cleansing Conditioner ($26 for full size): I have totally fallen in love with Macadamia Professional. Their products are SO nourishing, they always leave my hair ridiculously soft and full. I think they’re kind of on the hot train right now because I keep getting samples. No complaints here. Plus the name is adorable, which doesn’t hurt. This cleansing conditioner (oh hey, multi-tasking!) left my hair clean and soft. I try not to over wash my hair, so I’m always down to try a cleansing conditioner. It might not be great for super dry/course hair, but hey – this box was personalized for me (thanks, Birchbox!).

Mally Beauty Volumizing Mascara ($20 for full size): I have lash extensions so while I’m not super into mascara samples, the new reviewing process allows me to tell them to stop sending me these samples so I shouldn’t be getting more in the future (yay). This mascara does sound pretty promising though, it combines the best features of the best products – Japanese pigment, Italian formula, and French diamond-cut lash comb.

Escada Turquoise Summer Eau de Toilette ($62 for full size): This perfume smells so good. It’s bright, fruity, and floral – similar to the perfume I normally wear, but more…. summery, I suppose. It’s definitely a sample that I will keep on hand and use! Unclear how this is a multi-tasking product though, Birchbox.

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek ($24 – this is full size!) I love it when Birchbox sends a full-size product! This was my sample choice this month, I was pretty excited when I saw it was one of the options. This is an easy favorite for me, it’s super moisturizing on the lips and beautifully dewy on the cheeks. The color is really perfect for me too, it’s a slightly mauve pink that really complements my skin tone. Love it!!

Final Rating: A+

I loved this box. The samples seemed to be curated just for me (mascara notwithstanding) and they event sent a full sized lip/cheek balm! I am really looking forward to the next box, fall boxes are my favorite!
