BeautyFix (powered by DermStore.com) is a box that continues to surprise me each month with its awesome value and inclusion of quality products and September is no exception!

BeautyFix

Price: $25/month

Box Type: Beauty products with more of a focus on skincare/

Why you’ll love it: $100+ value in each box, every box is curated by skin experts, the inclusion of professional-grade and hard-to-find spa exclusives, mostly full or deluxe sample sizes and free shipping!

DS Laboratories Spectral.Lash – Eyelash Stimulator ($49- Full size!): This is one of those treatments that is supposed to help grow your eye lashes. I have decently long eyelashes but my friend Erin is doing some scientific research (basically before and after photos, I think) to see if it works. So if it does, I may try to use it myself. The directions say to apply it like eyeliner twice a day (morning and night) for a several weeks, then you can switch to once daily application. Then it gets a little ominous: “If solution gets into the eye, it is not expected to cause harm.” I’m not sure if I like the words “not expected to cause harm.” Like, for a product that is used near the eyes, I’d like for the company itself to know definitively if it will cause harm. Erin can let me know. 🙂

Danielle Creations Rose Gold Curved Tweezer ($7.99): I really like these tweezers! And the fact that they are pretty doesn’t hurt either. Some cheap tweezers don’t grab hairs too well, which sort of defeats the purchase of tweezers, right? I like having multiple pairs of tweezers around, so these will go in my gym bag.

Erno Laszlo Phelityl Cleansing Bar ($38-$45): I have long been a fan of Erno Laszlo’s Sea Mud Deep Cleansing Bar so I’ll be interested in trying this version, which claims to nourish dry skin, balance pH levels and boost skin cell renewal.

NIA 24 Treatment Catalyst ($71/Full-size!): I was reading the ingredient list in this and it basically just seems like a facial oil? I’m still not sure what makes it super special. They say that you can add it to your moisturizer or serum to lessens the appearance of sun damage, hyperpigmentation and sun spots while improving skin to allow for better absorption and retention of subsequent skin care products. So I may give this a try, but I haven’t had time yet.

Lift Lab Skin Regeneration Purify + Clarify Daily Cleanser, Detox Mask and Gentle Exfoliant ($65): OK, this product seems a little silly to me. It’s a foaming face wash. Period. But it claims it’s like a detox mask because it provides the benefits of a maxk by drawing out impurities to shrink pore size and heal blemishes. YOU KNOW, LIKE A FACE WASH. I come across a lot of beauty product nonsense in my chosen line of blogging work so sometimes I just have to laugh at it.

Patchology Flashpatch Lip Gels ($50/24): I’m intrigued by this and I think I am going to try these this weekend. Basically the concept is that your lips need a mask, too. Who am I to argue?

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener ($48): I was really happy to get this primer in my box because I have tried it before and I LOVE it. I haven’t wanted to drop the $48 to buy the full-size version but since I do love it so much so I may have to get it this time. This is more of a moisturizer than one of those silicon versions which I prefer because I don’t get those little product balls that you can occasionally get when you layer too many products.

Glytone Enhance Brightening Complex ($70): I am really intrigued by this for the price tag alone and the fact that I got the full size! Haha. I feel like everyone is tired of my skin woes but while I am dealing with some cystic acne issues now, the BIGGER problem for me is the residual scars. So I am going to take a crack with this stuff once the first problem is gone and I am dealing with my second problem. Haha. Sigh.

A self-proclaimed beauty junkie/hoarder with a serious Sephora problem. This blog is a total rationalization of that problem. Everything is TOTALLY fine.
