Play! by Sephora is awesome. I really loved this month because there are a few products that I’ve been wanting to try but just haven’t been able to grab a sample anywhere. I love everything in this box this month!

Price: $10/month

Box Type: Beauty products, 5-6 deluxe samples

Why you’ll love it: High end brands (no drugstore products here!), new and interesting products in deluxe sample sizes, plus a cute little bag each month! It’s a great mix of makeup and skincare, which I love!

Here’s what Sephora sent this month:

Skin Dew Mist by Farmacy ($44 for full size): I love love love the Farmacy brand! They are based in farming communities in upstate NY (where I grew up!) and they always use fresh, natural ingredients in all of their awesome products. This hydrating essence mist is perfect for me – I always use an essence in my daily skincare regimen, and this sample size is pretty huge!

Regenerating Hair Mask by Christophe Robin ($71 for full size): I’ve heard great things about prickly pear seed oil because of its amazing nourishing benefits, but I’ve never had the opportunity to try a product that contains it. This mask works in just a few minutes to strengthen hair and enhance shine and color.

Flash Photo Gloss by The Estée Edit, Estée Lauder ($20 for full size): I’m on the fence with this one. It’s a gloss that can be worn either alone or on top of lipstick, and its main selling point is that it has a tint of blue in it to make your teeth look whiter. On one hand, it definitely did make my teeth look whiter, but on the other it is a little sticky and I’m not sure it would be great for warm skin tones. I can see wearing this for a big event where you might be photographed with a flash, but honestly it is not something I could wear daily. I will point out that this sample is about half the size of the full sized tube, so that’s pretty awesome!

Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Driver’s Seat by Smashbox ($24 for full size): I was surprised how much I liked this color on me. It looked a bit mauve in the tube, but when it went on it appeared more like a pinky-peachy-coral and complemented my skin pretty nicely. Weird. The formula is nice as well, and this is a great sized sample! I will definitely be wearing this for the holidays this year!

Bamboo Creme Frappe Skin Reviving Fresh Gel by Erborian ($43 for full size): I am so excited to try this. I have fallen in love with doing a daily full K-beauty skincare routine and this fits right into that! I use a hydrating toner, essence, serum, and oils, so by the time I get to a moisturizer I don’t need a heavy cream despite having super dry skin. This gel cream is perfect for me! My skin has been incredible lately, by the way – I highly recommend giving the method a try! Maybe I’ll write a blog about it one of these days with some recommendations…

Mon Paris by Yves Saint Laurent ($29-$122 for full sizes): I don’t usually love the perfume samples that Sephora includes each month, but this one spoke to me. It’s a light, sweet, and fresh scent that is pretty nice. I probably won’t buy a full bottle of it but I will enjoy the sample.

Final Rating: A+

I thought this month’s Play! by Sephora hit all the right buttons. Great sized samples, interesting products, and solid brands. What more can you ask for?
