Not only is October the best month of the year (obviously because it’s my birthday month), but it has so far been the best month of 2016 for subscription boxes. I’ve loved every single box I have received – that never happens. Popsugar this month was described with the words “reinvention, warm, cozy, snuggly, inspiration, & happy.” It even had two bonus items (you know I love bonus items).
Price: $39.95/month
Box Type: Lifestyle & beauty, full-sized products
Why you’ll love it: Always on-trend, always fun and interesting, always worth 4-5 times the price of the box! There’s so much to love about Popsugar!

Check out what was inside:
Henri Bendel Packable Umbrella – $58: I have never owned a $58 umbrella and I’m slightly uncomfortable owning this one since I will inevitably break it or leave it somewhere. But it seems a bit sturdier than my $15 umbrellas, so maybe there’s something to this fancy umbrella business.
Lalicious Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil & Bubble Bath – $28: I recently turned one of my bathrooms into a spa room (or, as Lauren calls it, a Bath Room), so I’ve been taking a lot of amazing bubble baths for relaxation (and holy crap, it works!). This oil is amazing as a bubble bath, but it also doubles as a bath oil that smells lovely and softens your skin like crazy. Definitely worth the price tag.
Makeup Eraser Mini – $12: This is a travel-sized, extremely soft towel that is a cult classic product because it evidently gently removes even the toughest makeup really effectively when damp. It also is supposed to last through 1,000 washes, so that’s pretty rad. I was concerned that my makeup would stain the cloth, but everything rinsed out pretty cleanly.
Morning Culture Rise & Shine Diner Mug – $16: The last thing I need is yet another mug, but this one is pretty cute and I think my sister has her eye on it so it will likely end up in her Christmas stocking (you’re welcome, Jen).
My Cup of Cocoa Dark Drinking Chocolate – $4.99: I am so excited about this cocoa. We received chocolate mug cake mix in a previous Popsugar box and it was SO FREAKING GOOD. So good, in fact, that I have not stopped talking about them. It’s been like a year already, I should probably just buy some more.
Power Your Happy by Lisa Sugar – $25: This was the first of two (TWO!!!!) special extras in this month’s box. Lisa Sugar, owner of Popsugar and curator of Popsugar Must Have boxes, penned this inspirational memoir full of advice and stories about working hard, playing nice, and building your dream life.
Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen – $8.99: This is the second bonus item this month, which is great because I’d be irritated if Popsugar put a drugstore item in as one of the regular items this month. It’s great as a freebie though, and it has some pretty great reviews from what I can tell. Maybe this is one of those drugstore steals that rival more expensive products!
Final Grade: A
This month’s box was pretty great. The retail value was a whopping $152.98 while the price tag was only $39.95. Not too bad considering the wide range of products this month (seriously, there is something for everyone this time). We’re starting to see spoilers for the November box popping up and it’s gearing up to be another great one!
