So I didn’t LOVE last month’s BeautyFix box but the December box totally made up for it and reminded me why I love this subscription!

BeautyFix

Price: $25/month

Box Type: Beauty products with more of a focus on skincare/

Why you’ll love it: $100+ value in each box, every box is curated by skin experts, the inclusion of professional-grade and hard-to-find spa exclusives, mostly full or deluxe sample sizes and free shipping!

So let’s get into the box!

Color Wow Kale Cocktail Bionic Tonic ($24): While Birchbox only sent me products that weren’t good for my hair, I’m fired up that BeautyFix is actually sending me things that I can use! This is a strengthening treatment that my color-treated hair can most definitely use.

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Miracle Multiplying Volume Mist ($28): As I’ve mentioned a million times, all I want is volume. I live for volumizing sprays and I’m always down to try a new one!

Danielle Creations 24K Gold Plated Nail Clippers ($8.90): I mean, they’re nail clippers. But they are gold nail clippers. So they have a place in my heart and my bathroom closet.

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse or Multi-Usage Dry Oil Shimmer ($54): I’ve seen this oil over and over again in fashion magazines and I’m so glad I can finally try it for myself! It’s perfect to get a light sheen on your arms/legs or even your hair (though personally I won’t be putting this in my hair!) Perfect for a night out!

Dermelect ME Nail Polish ($14): I’m always down for a new dark/shimmery nail polish so this fits the bill! But check out this sentence in the product description: “ProSina keratin protein, a peptide derived from the wool of a New Zealand sheep, adds high-shine while strengthening and making nails more durable to prevent peeling, splitting and chipping.” I have a question about this peptide. Does it have to be from New Zealand sheep specifically? Are American sheep not good enough? Like, how random is that?

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Lip Satin ($38): Kevyn Aucoin is a world-renowned makeup artist but weirdly, I am not sure if I’ve ever tried anything from his makeup line, even though I read about it all the time. This is a great Christmas-y red (which would have totally been appropriate if I wrote this blog in December. Sorry!) but you don’t need to wait for Christmas to wear a great read lipstick! This is not a stain or a liquid lipstick – this stuff WILL budge, but it feels really nice on!

Glytone Mild Cream Cleanser ($32): This is a cream cleanser that is great for those with dry and sensitive skin. A concentration of 3.4% Free Acid Value glycolic acid helps to exfoliate dead skin cells leaving the skin looking brighter and feeling smoother! I’m in!

Dermalogica Charcoal Rescue Massque ($46): Charcoal is a natural purifier which is why you’ve started seeing it in a lot of anti-acne products lately. My skin is doing pretty well right now but it will be great for every now and then when my skin needs a little TLC.

REN Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream ($45): I’ve been seeing this brand all over lately but I haven’t yet tried this moisturizer. It looks like a basic day cream that’s good for sensitive skin. I might give this a whirl in my new 25 step skincare routine. (Thanks, Jill.)

DHC Velvet Skin Coat ($22.50): I’ve resolved to try and find a primer that I love that doesn’t cost $40 so I will let you know if this one makes the cut!

The December BeautyFix box was a million times better than the November box and I think I will use almost every single item I received!

If you want to sign up for a BeautyFix box, leave you email in the comments below, or email me at ThoseBoxyLadies@gmail.com, and they will give you $10 to spend at DermStore.com which you can apply to the cost of your first box. Kind of a no brainer when you see how much you receive! Let me know!

A self-proclaimed beauty junkie/hoarder with a serious Sephora problem. This blog is a total rationalization of that problem. Everything is TOTALLY fine. Her free time is a mixed combination of making fun of reality TV with her husband, hanging out with cats and finally trying to figure out how to do her hair.
