Guys, Birchbox totally nailed it this month. This month they teamed up with Reese Witherspoon to promote her new lifestyle brand, Draper James. There were no Draper James products in the box, but apparently Reese had a hand in picking out “powerful, high-performing products” that celebrate powerful women for Women’s History Month. I’m so on board with everything about this.
Price: $10/month

Let’s see what was inside the Draper James inspired box:
Davines OI All in One Milk ($17 for sample size!!) – There was no way to photograph this sample to give an idea of how large it is. It’s just under 2 oz, which is fairly large for a sample (in fact, it’s just under half of the full-size version, which is $32!). I’ll definitely be getting quite a few uses out of it. Which is great, because I love it. As its name implies, this really is an all-in-one spray; it volumizes, detangles, adds shine, and acts as a heat protectant. Yes, please.
Davines OI Shampoo & Conditioner ($29 and $36 respectively for full-size) – These are technically bonus items in addition to the rest of my box, which is awesome. Any time Birchbox wants to send me a few extra samples because they’re in a good mood is fine by me. The shampoo is volumizing, smoothing, and has a UV protectant in it, while the conditioner has roucou oil and apricot butter. I am in love.
Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer in Medium ($29 for full-size) – This is also a pretty sizable sample and will probably last me all summer and beyond! The picture makes it look darker than it is, the color is really perfect for lighter skin tones like mine. The formula is rainproof, sweatproof, and tearproof, so basically perfect.
Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Eye Shadow Quad ($19.95 for full-size) – I am digging these little eye shadow sets that boxes keep sending me, they’re so perfect for traveling and trying new brands. I really love this duo, and again they’re big enough to get a ton of uses out of this sample. The full-sized palette looks super pretty, I just got lost in the Coastal Scents website and am demonstrating some serious self-control by not buying all of their palettes right now. You’re welcome, wallet.
Dr. Jart+ Dermaclear Micro Water ($32 for full-size) – I only like micro waters under two very specific conditions – 1. I’m spending 7+ hours on an airplane and am dying to wash my face but can’t bring myself to touch an airplane bathroom sink, and 2. It’s summer in Baltimore and I’ve spent the day outside, which means I want to get the sunscreen and sweat off my face in a hurry. Micro water comes in handy in those situations, but otherwise I don’t really see the point. Fortunately, I have enough mini bottles of micro water at this point that I may never need to actually buy a bottle of it.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream ($27.50 for full-size) – This was my sample choice this month! I’ve wanted to try this cream for a while, it keeps coming up on blogs and on store shelves. Its claim to fame is that it’s super hydrating but fast absorbing. Just an all-around good moisturizer. I am always (ALWAYS) down to try a solid moisturizer. So here we are.
Final Rating: A+++
I absolutely loved this box. I love the theme, I love Reese Witherspoon, I love every item in this box, and I even love that I have a new tiny bottle of micro water to carry around in my purse all summer. I love everything about this month’s Birchbox!!
