Hi friends! Welcome to the April 2017 Gentleman’s Box! This is becoming one of my favorite boxes, even though it’s not for me! I think this box is so thoughtfully curated and I love seeing the different things that Matt receives each month.

Gentleman’s Box

Price: $25/month

Box Type: Lifestyle & beauty, full-sized products

Why you’ll love it: Gentleman’s Box is a subscription service for men providing the essentials for the modern gentleman. Items inside may range from grooming supplies to wardrobe accessories – each hand selected to complement the gentleman’s lifestyle and align with our monthly theme. Four to six hand-selected products for men, accompanied by a one-year subscription to GQ magazine (U.S. and Canada only), are delivered right to your doorstep – with the content’s value always triple your monthly cost.

So let’s see what’s inside the box!

One of the coolest things about this box is the little magazine they include, The Gentleman’s Post which describes content under the themes “Look Good,” “Feel Good” and “Be Good.” I am always so impressed with the curation of the magazine because I think it’s a nice touch to put so much thought into a men’s box. Sometimes I think women are spoiled with all of our options but I think this is such a great box for men, especially for the price point of $25!

As for the actual products…
I am so happy that this box included sunglasses! Matt doesn’t have any and just… squints every day when he drives home. So I hope he will actually use these and see how much better his life will be. Haha.

Dazi USA Tie ($28): Matt really liked this tie because it’s like nothing that he already has. This just screams summer. Like, in my mind, I picture the J. Crew Summer catalog, ya know? I’m not totally sure he has a shirt to wear it with NOW, he will be on the hunt.

My Suited Life Fish Hook Tie Bar ($19): This wasn’t our favorite tie clip upon first impression but as look at it more, I actually kind of like it. I think it’s kind of unique and different. Matt doesn’t like it so much but I think it’s pretty cool. I got him this awesome accessories box for his birthday, so at least he has a place to put this now. 🙂 I did see that this clip was an exclusive to Gentleman’s Box, which is cool.

WCR Co. Socks ($12): These socks look really cool. Matt’s favorite color is blue and he has sooooo many blue patterned socks. He’s also really loves every pair of socks he’s ever received from Gentleman’s Box. I should probably get him a socks subscription… hmmm. He won’t read this, so that will be a surprise. But back to WCR Co. I don’t totally understand the company, as I couldn’t find similar socks to buy on their site? I’m unclear about what this company does.

Sunny Rebel Sunglasses ($35): Unlike the weird WCR Co. company above, I could actually find a website that sold a ton of really cool, reasonably priced sunglasses. I love these and I think they look really good on Matt! I hope he will wear them and experience the joy that is not being blinded by the sun every day! I hope that this is added to the list of the things that he admits I am right about. (This list is very, very long.)

Detroit Grooming Co. Shampoo & Body Wash ($29/full-size): I think Matt is going to really love this because he loves minty-ish scents for shampoo and I think he would like it as body wash as well. I think he would use it now but this could also just go in his little travel bag for when we take trips. I hadn’t heard of the company and had a little trouble finding where you could buy this but I did see that there are a few Detroit Grooming Co. products out there, and you could even buy this product in Lavender and Tea Tree as well!

Lawrence Hunt $50 Gift Card: So, this was a really cool inclusion, as it’s $50 DOLLARS. There weren’t any restrictions on the card either! Like, you don’t have to spend $100 to get the $50. It’s just straight up $50. Dang. The shirts aren’t super expensive, either. It looks like their THING is the “No-Sweat Shirt,” which is intriguing. They also have one women’s shirt-a crisp white button down. Button downs are hard for women- I have always wanted a white button-down. But… boobs. I’m interested to see what shirt Matt will get!

Final Grade: A

I think the Gentleman’s Box is always worth the $25 price tag. Matt gets so many things that he may not buy for himself but ends up really liking! I think he likes the socks and tie the most but I am hoping he will get some use out of those shades!

  1. I agree with you–this is one of my favorite boxes to read about. Seems like such a steal for $25, too. Hope Matt enjoys those shades!
