For some reason the June Popsugar box was sent out waaaaay later than normal this month. I was googling for spoilers for weeks after they normally ship, wondering why I hadn’t gotten my box yet. It’s finally here, but was it worth the wait? This month was a weird one, but I like more things in it than I hate, so it’s a net win.

POPSUGAR Must Have

Ok, let’s see what was in this month’s very delayed Popsugar Must Have box:

Aloha Collection Mid-Size Ocean Coco Palms Pouch ($36) – First of all, this pouch is HUGE. It’s nearly a foot across, so it will hold a lot of stuff. It’s made with 100% coated tyvek, and is branded as “splash proof”. I thought this was going to be a makeup bag, so when I saw a spoiler for it I wasn’t thrilled for yet ANOTHER makeup bag, but it turns out this would actually be perfect for storing wet beach clothes or putting your phone/accessories in at the pool to keep them dry! It would also work super well as a traveling makeup bag to prevent spills and leaks from getting all over your suitcase.

Captain Blankenship Mermaid Sea Salt Hair Spray ($24) – I typically don’t care for sea salt sprays as they dry my hair out like crazy, but this one has aloe vera and sea kelp extract, plus rose geranium essential oil and palmarosa essential oil to make it smell amazing.

NCLA So Rich Mermaid Tears Cuticle Oil ($18) – I JUST ran out of cuticle oil, so this is perfect timing for me. I am loving the formula, and the fact that it smells like honeysuckle makes me super happy. I am really, really digging this one.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid ($26 for hard cover) – I am so excited to get this book!! I’ve heard nothing but great things about it, that it’s the perfect summer read. This was one of our Book of the Month options for June, and I am really glad I didn’t pick it – but I did come close!

“Aging Hollywood movie icon Evelyn Hugo is finally ready to spill about her glamorous and scandalous life – her risks, her loves, and her secrets. When she chooses an unknown, down-on-her-luck magazine reporter, Monique Grant, to pen the story, no one is more surprised than Monique, but she is determined to use the story to jumpstart her stagnant journalism career. As Evelyn rolls out her story, she and Monique forge a connection – one that becomes clearer as her story and Monique’s intersect in tragic and irreversible ways.”

Billabong Aloha Trucker Hat ($18) – Ehhhhhh. This is a miss for me. I can’t ever imagine wearing a trucker hat, let alone one that says “aloha” on the front. I give Popsugar credit for trying to take us all out of our comfort zones, but this is not going to happen for me.

Meri Meri Party Straws ($6) – How cute are these paper straws?? My husband and I have been talking about having people over for crabs this summer (it’s a Maryland thing), and these would be so perfect with lemonade or some Pinterest-perfect cocktails. Paper straws can be a bummer because they get soggy super fast, but since there are 24 of them there will be enough to just get a new one with each drink.

BONUS ITEMS: Starbucks Frappuccino ($2.20) & Belgian Boys Mini Cookie Stash Speculoos Cookies ($1) – I LOVE BONUS ITEMS!!! First of all, these cookies are amazing. I have received them in boxes before and they’re delicious. I’m not a huge fan of Frappuccinos, but I know I can give this away pretty easily.

Final Rating: A

Full disclosure, I did not love this box when I first opened it. The hat was a glaring eyesore and the Frappuccino was prominently displayed on top, so I was immediately turned off. But after going through it and realizing how awesome the cuticle oil, book, and Aloha pouch are, I actually really like this month’s goodies. The sea salt spray is definitely better than other sea salt sprays I have tried, and I could actually get some use out of it. All in all, a decent box that retails for over $130! Not too shabby.

xo,

Jill
