Birchbox used to be my least favorite box (seriously, read my earliest reviews), but in the past year I have found myself getting most excited for it out of all the boxes I receive. I really love this box and how perfect for me the samples have become. They have done a complete 180 in terms of quality and relevance; even the products they send have gotten better and more high-end.

I got the curated box this month, check it out:

Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum in Sunrise ($16 for full-size)
I am all about cream products right now, so cream blushes are totally my thing at the moment. This one is the prettiest pink color and contains apricot seed oil and vitamin E and is suuuuuper hydrating. I love how it feels on my skin, it just melts right in and leaves such a pretty glow. The bottle says you can use it on lips and cheeks, which is awesome.

Oribe Matte Waves Texture Lotion ($42 for full-size)
I loved this way more than I thought I would. First of all, the smell is amaaaaaazing – I kept getting whiffs of it all day and I swooned each time. Oribe is always impressive, but this one really blew me away. I added it to damp hair and let it air dry, and my hair was voluminous, wavy, and soft all day long. My hair normally does not do very well when I let it air dry naturally, but this just made it so much better. If you have straight hair I don’t think this lotion will make your hair wavy like other products claim they will, but the texturizing aspect is fantastic. A lot of times leave-in products can be sticky, heavy, or oily, but I forgot I had anything in my hair – even when I ran my hands through it, there was no sticky feeling on my fingers after (SO RARE). This product definitely made me a do a double-take and I am seriously considering buying the full-sized version.

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleanser ($22.50 for full-size)
Clay cleansers tend to be too drying for my already dry skin, but this one wasn’t too bad and even acted as a pretty solid makeup remover. I am currently obsessed with the Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser (it might be the best cleanser I’ve ever used, actually), and this one was not as amazing as that. But I am definitely keeping this on hand for traveling.

MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Skin ($31 for full-size)
I know everyone loves MAC but I am usually not overly impressed by their products. That said, I liked this primer quite a bit. It kept my foundation looking solid all day and while I like other primers better (hello, every single Ulta primer and this e.l.f. one), I’m glad I tried it.

Juliette Has a Gun Anyway Eau de Parfum ($100-$135 for full-size)
Juliette Has a Gun has been killing it lately, I see this brand everywhere. I really love the scent of this one, it’s very citrusy, floral, bright, and completely screams SUMMER when you inhale it. I can’t imagine ever dropping that much cash for a bottle of perfume when there are amazing ones for half that price, but this one definitely smells great.

Final Rating: A+

Everything in this box was great. Granted, I chose the curated box this month so there were no surprises, but I liked everything more than I thought I would and I am so glad to have been able to try that Oribe wave lotion. Another awesome box from Birchbox.

xo,

Jill
