I have been enjoying the special edition SkinStore boxes that they have been sending me the last few months! This time around, they collaborated with AHAVA. I am actually a little familiar with AHAVA, as I have received some of their products in subscription boxes over the years but they were never really my favorite – mostly because scent is subjective and they are not the sort of bath type scents that I typically gravitate towards. I’m more of a vanilla/cucumber sweet scents kind of girl. So I never really looked at AHAVA too closely. Because of that, I was glad that to have the opportunity to learn more about the brand!

So here’s everything included in the box! First of all – notice those three full-sized products! Damn! We’ll look at everything a bit closer below.

The SkinStore inserts are pretty incredible. Not only do they tell you about the products included in the box, they go into great detail about the brand itself. In the AHAVA box, they included articles like “Top 5 Amazing Benefits of Dead Sea Salt” (which I had no idea about!), the “Benefits of Botanicals” and “How to Get a Full-Body Renewal With a Spa Day At Home.” Additionally they shared about other AHAVA products that weren’t included in the box. It is such a thorough look at the brand and I am always so impressed.

I learned that AHAVA is the leading Dead Sea skincare expert, as they have harnessed the power of pure and healing minerals directly from the Dead Sea. AHAVA was originally developed by scientists living on the shores of the Dead Sea, and they produce luxurious and effective products that are clinically proven to protect, nourish and rejuvenate the skin. All AHAVA products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and paraben free. AHAVA  prides itself on its use of natural and eco-friendly ingredients. One of their most potent ingredients is called Osmoter, which runs through the entire product range. It contains a perfectly balanced blend of Dead Sea minerals that replenish and recharge the skin. Other ingredients in their products include date extract, kiwi extract, flax seed extract, Dead Sea mud, brown algae, shea butter, Vitamin C, witch hazel and lotus flower extract. Good to know!

AHAVA Firming Body Cream (Full-size! $42): OK, I am going to be honest – I didn’t immediately gravitate towards this because I sort of assumed I wasn’t going to like the scent, and because you know I’m loyal to my Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer. But I said to Matt, “Ummm, I think I should take another look at this lotion, which I just learned is $42. Maybe I should be trying this instead of my drugstore lotion…” But this actually smells really good to me. This cream is supposed to “define the body’s contours and recovers lost skin firmness.” LOL on a cream defining your body’s contours. If you want to define your body’s contours, you gotta work. (Literally just stopped and watched that whole video. FOCUS LAUREN.) But I do like this cream because I do think it smells nice and it absorbs quickly.

One thing about the scent of these products that I keep referencing is that at first, I originally thought they smell more masculine than I typically like. However, the scents are more clean and neutral – men could use these and not feel like they are using women’s products but they don’t smell like Old Spice or anything so women like me, who like sweeter scents, might like them, too.

AHAVA Mineral Shower Gel (Full-Size! $20): Unlike the previous item, shower gel is just one of those things where I really do prefer a sweeter scent so this one isn’t my favorite. But it smells super clean and nice and I did stick it in our shower to see if Matt might end up using it! It does smell good but just not for me personally.

AHAVA Natural Dead Sea Bath Salt (Full-Size! $11): Just one ingredient: 100% authentic Dead Sea salt, which is supposed to deliver the ultimate muscle relaxing and hydrating bath experience. I don’t take that many baths. When we built our house, I insisted I needed the bathtub with the jets because I knew I was going to start taking baths! I think I have taken maybe 5 baths total. What I envisioned was coming home on a cold day and taking a warm relaxing bath. What I failed to think about is that I live in Texas and it’s almost never cold and so I don’t really want to take a COLD bath? However, I have been dealing with a sprained muscle in my leg, so I wonder if this would help at all? Unclear! But if you like baths, I bet you’d like this!

AHAVA Essential Moisturizer Normal to Dry Deluxe Sample ($45): This is a moisturizer that contains vitamin E and aloe along with Dead Sea minerals. While I already have moisturizers that I love, it did mention that you can use this on your neck and décolleté, so I’m going to use this for those purposes!

AHAVA Mineral Handcream Sea Kissed Deluxe Sample ($24): This is hands down (GET IT HANDS DOWN BECAUSE IT IS A HAND LOTION.) my favorite product in the box! My hands are dry all the time and I have started using this in the mornings after I’m finished with my makeup and I really like it. It does have that sea mineral-type scent but it is similar to the body cream and it doesn’t clash with my perfume or anything. I do think it helps kind of start my hands out right for the day. When I forget to put lotion on in the mornings, my hands just feel so gross and cracked! So I enjoy using this a lot.

AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion Sample ($29): This might be the product in the box that I liked the least – when comparing to the other creams I received, I just preferred the other two! I didn’t like the scent of this as much as the others and isn’t quite as moisturizing, just because the nature of the product. However, it contains the Dead Sea minerals as well, obviously.

Final Grade: B

Out of the SkinStore collabs I’ve received recently, this one just hasn’t been my favorite. But it’s almost 100% because of personal preference, because of things like scents and my own routines, etc. I also am just not super into body lotions and stuff! I will spend so much money on the stuff that goes on my face, but I don’t care so much about the body! So that’s just me. I know there are people out there that might be the opposite.

If you are interested in checking out a bunch of different AHAVA products, this box is definitely a great value! The cost of that firming cream alone is almost the cost of the whole box! If you were interested in that product, it might be worth it to spend a few more dollars to get everything else!
