Hi friends! Welcome to the review of the November Gentleman’s Box! Spoiler alert: “It’s fine.” That is what Matt said over and over again when I was like, can you please elaborate? And he just said fine in about 20 different ways. “It wasn’t my favorite, but it was fine. You know? It’s fine. That’s how I feel about it. It’s just fine. I mean, I don’t know what else to say. It’s fine.” I asked Matt if I quoted him accurately and he said yes and again he said it was fine.

This is the inside of the box! They actually changed the actual BOX this month, so that’s kind of cool. And by the cover of the Gentleman’s Post, you can tell that Ron Swanson is their inspiration this month. 🙂
As usual, the little magazine they include each month, The Gentleman’s Post, is the bomb. It describes contents under the themes “Look Good,” “Feel Good” and “Be Good.” I am always so impressed with the curation of the magazine because I think it’s a nice touch to put so much thought into a men’s box. Sometimes I think women are spoiled with all of our options but I think this is such a great box for men, especially for the price point of $25!
And here’s everything Matt received this month! More details below.
Brooklyn Strong Mustache Cufflinks ($23): Out of everything in this box, this is the only thing Matt did NOT think was fine, and apparently, these “offended him.” He is not a hipster and does not find mustaches ironic. And honestly, I’m not even sure who I would give these to. Are there any hipsters that have a GoFundMe for mustache cufflinks I can donate to?
Brooklyn Strong Tie Clip ($16): Unlike the offensive cufflinks, Matt really liked the orange tie clip. It goes perfectly with the tie in this box and is unlike anything he has already, so he liked it. In other words, it was fine.
Barnaby Socks ($12): These socks were really cool. On the cuffs of these socks, one had a button and the other had a button hole, I am assuming so that you can store them together? I also made the argument that you could wash them that way and then you wouldn’t lose the other sock, but Matt did not think that was right. Shrug. He likes the socks. They were fine.
Air Tailor x Gentleman’s Box Tie ($30): Air Tailor doesn’t actually sell ties, but they partnered with Gentleman’s Box to make this one. I’m not sure if you can tell by the picture, but the tie had little orange flowers on it, which sort of looked a little modern while also looking a little retro. It wasn’t Matt’s favorite, but you know, he liked it – it was fine.
Oak & Stone Manicure Set ($25): When I looked up Oak & Stone, I couldn’t find a manicure set on their website, so maybe this is just something they private labeled and put their logo on to get their name out there? But once, again, Matt thought this was “fine.” I, however, think it’s better than fine, since Matt is constantly asking to borrow my little scissors and stuff. Now he has his own.
Air Tailor Set: From what I understand, Air Tailor is a service you can use to get your clothes altered without having to go to an actual tailor. They included pins and a tape measure, and I guess you provide Air Tailor with the garment and measurements and then they do the tailoring for you. Pretty cool! Matt gets his tailoring done at Nordstrom, but this is a neat idea that I hadn’t heard of before. Matt won’t use this, so this didn’t even get a “fine” but he didn’t feel personally victimized by it, like he did with the cufflinks. And I got some safety pins out of it.
Final Grade: B
As if you didn’t know by now, the November Gentleman’s Box was FINE. You know. Fine. I know Matt will use the majority of the items in the box, but I also know he’s liked other months of Gentleman’s Box more.
I still think the box is a great value and would make an awesome Christmas present all year round! Click here if you are interested in subscribing for you or a dude you know!
