A few months ago, I bought the Quip toothbrush after finally giving into their (working) marketing, and I told y’all I would follow up with you when I got the refill pack, as I didn’t totally know how it would all work out.

Quip Toothbrush System

Price: $25/$40 initially, depending on whether you chose a plastic or metal toothbrush, then $10 every 3 months with a refill and toothpaste, or $30/$45 initially, then $5 every 3 months for just the refill.

Box Type: Toothbrush! It’s pretty much as simple as that!

Why you’ll love it: If you wish there was something in between the cheapo electric toothbrushes you get from the drugstore and a $100+ expensive toothbrushes, then this is the toothbrush for you. You get a really fancy looking toothbrush with the convenience factor of having brush heads mailed to you every 3 months.

So back when I wrote my initial blog, I didn’t love the toothpaste as much, so I had to cancel my subscription and then subscribe to just the toothbrush head. And then sometime along the way, I ran out of my Colgate toothpaste so I started using up my Quip toothpaste and I fell in love. Initially, I didn’t love that it wasn’t quite as minty strong as my Colgate, but then when I’ve gone back to try the Colgate, I have found it to taste so harsh. So I had to go back and subscribe to the toothpaste part.

The Quip refill itself comes with the toothbrush head AND a battery, which I think is nice. You never have to worry about your toothbrush running out of a charge. I don’t think mine was dead yet but I just replaced the battery anyway, just so I could stay on that replacement schedule.

But just in terms of the toothbrush itself, I have really enjoyed it. At first, I felt like the bristles were a little stiffer than brushes I was used to, but I don’t think they were TOO stiff. It was just something I had to get used to. I have also very much enjoyed the timer function, as I am positive that I was not brushing my teeth for long enough before. I’m going to the dentist laster this month, so I am excited to hear what they say. 😊

Final Grade: A
