Happy President’s Day!
I’m sorry for the lack of a few blogs last week. My cat went into heart failure on Tuesday — luckily pulled through, however, it was pretty touch-and-go for a bit and honestly, blogging was truly the very last thing on my mind. Meanwhile on the east coast, Jill was dealing with a plumbing issue, so it just wasn’t the best week for Boxy Ladies.
But I was thinking about various eyeshadow palettes that I may want to buy at some point, and I thought I would share!

Marc Jacobs Beauty Eye-Conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Scandalust and Provocouture ($49): I recently acquired the Eye-Conic palette in Edgitorial (from my awesome friend Cassie!!!) and it has INSTANTLY become my favorite eyeshadow palette. I love the formula and how easy it is to make a great look. I love the green tones of that palette but would love a similar warm and a cool toned palette –hence the two above. I also LOVE the sleek packaging, and I just feel like a rich bitch when I use the one I have.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Sugar Palette ($52): I know people have a lot of opinions about Jeffree Star… and I honestly do not disagree with many of the criticisms. However, he just entertains me so damn much, so I’m not against buying his products. I really love the look of the Blood Sugar palette – it is just SO over the top! I love that it looks like a little first aid kit. This ain’t a palette to travel with, but it’s one to collect. Not to mention, it has all of my tones! I love those red/purple/berry tones. At first, I thought this palette was limited edition, but since it’s not, it will be mine someday!

Coloured Raine Queen of Hearts Palette ($50): I’ve wanted the Queen of Hearts Palette for SO long. It WILL be mine someday! Again, I just love the tones but I also love the quality of the Coloured Raine shadows, as I have a few singles from them that are truly lovely. Coloured Raine is a black-owned makeup brand, so it’s not only nice to support a smaller indie company but you KNOW the shadows are going to be super pigmented! This palette has also received rave reviews pretty much across the board from any influencer that has tried it, so every time I see anyone talking about it, I’m like… give it to me.
Pat McGrath Mothership IV Eyeshadow Palette – Decadence ($125): Pat McGrath is one of the most iconic makeup artists of all time, and of course, she came out with an amazing luxury (read: expensive) brand. Will I pay $125 for an eyeshadow palette? Not anytime soon. But is this palette gorgeous as hell? YES. This palette speaks to me on a deep level.
Natasha Denona Lila Eyeshadow Palette ($129): I have several of the Natasha 5-pan palettes at this point, and honestly, some are a little hit or miss. I honestly might take one of them back to get one of the Marc Jacobs palettes above. However, I do really like most of them, and this palette of purple tones really speaks to me, and there are still a few neutrals for day-to-day looks, if you aren’t going for a bright purple on a Tuesday. Like me.
HONORABLE MENTION:
NARS NARSissist Wanted Eyeshadow Palette ($59): OK, I was actually totally done with this blog and I was watching an Allana Davison YouTube video and I came across a palette that looked so beautiful that I have to add this as an honorable mention. Up until this point, I hadn’t really cared about this palette but now I am giving it a second look. When I’ve seen NARS palettes before, they just have looked sort of chalky or not very pigmented but this looked SO PRETTY that now I’m like… are NARS shadows good? This palette gave me pause. I might further investigate this later, especially because it’s not over $100 like some of the others I mentioned.
Are you eyeballing any of these palettes? What eyeshadow palettes are on your wish list these days? Let us know!
xo,
Lauren
