I recently received an email from the owner of Handmade Happy Mail, and she asked me if she could send me a box for review. Of course I said yes, as I love all things notecard and snail mail, and the subscription seemed really unique!

The outside of the Handmade Happy Mail envelope that the subscription comes in is pretty basic, but is securely taped shut to ensure none of your cards will fall out in transit.

When you open the package, you’ll see the note cards in their own envelope along with a little card that details the month’s theme.
This month’s theme was “Choose Kind,” which was inspiration taken from the book and movie Wonder, by RJ Palacio. I LOVED this theme, as we read it a few years ago in my book club. It had a happy ending but I cried and cried! It was the sweetest book about a little boy named Auggie who was born with a facial deformity, who has to learn to navigate the world filled with cruel people. One of Auggie’s teachers has monthly quotes, and the one that resonated the most with Auggie is by Dr. Wayne Dyer that said, “If you have a choice between being right and being kind, choose kind.” This quote not only became a theme within the book but it also set off a campaign of kindness that you can learn more about at https://wonderthebook.com/choose-kind.
I thought that this was such a unique and great theme for a handmade card subscription, as it’s automatically a really kind thing to send someone a card, but even sweeter if the card has a kindness theme. I also thought it was a really neat idea to spread the “Choose Kind” campaign to those who might not have had a chance to read the book or see the movie yet.
And here are the March cards! (I added my own ampersand paperweight and paperclips!)
I loved this gorgeous watercolor You’re My Kind Of Person card. What’s hard to photograph is that there are 3-D elements to it, as the “You’re My Kind Of Person” part is actually raised off of the paper, and the black dots are raised as well! I just think the colors in this card are so happy! The I Love Your Kind Spirit card would be such a nice way to bring a smile to someone’s face, especially someone that might have done something nice for you lately! The inside of both cards is blank.
One of the best parts about this subscription is that they send TWO birthday cards! This is one reason I was super annoyed with Happy Mail by A Beautiful Mess, because even though they had cute cards, they were for random occasions and I need birthday cards EVERY month! I love the Sending Birthday Kindness card, as the colors are just so bright and gorgeous! Like the other cards, there are 3-D elements in these cards as well! The One of a Kind Birthday Wishes card seems like it would be good for a wide variety of people and ages. I love the Be Courageous & Kind card, as it’s great message, and would be nice to send to a pal.
I also love that this subscription includes some postage stamps so you can easily send these off and brighten someone’s day!

Final Grade: A
I LOVE the Handmade Happy Mail subscription, though I’m sure this comes as no surprise to y’all. You might think that the subscription might be a little pricy for 5 cards, but you have to remember that these beautiful cards are handmade! And if you were to buy anything similar at Target, with this same level of detail, it would definitely be right around the same price.
I also LOVE that this comes with TWO BIRTHDAY CARDS. This is SO HELPFUL as y’all will always need a birthday card!
This month’s theme was really cute, and I am so glad I had the chance to review this subscription! If you are interested in subscribing, click here!
