Here is everything we got this month! I love the color palette – so bright and happy! (FYI – the little dish was mine, but I thought it looked cute in the picture. Doin’ it for the ‘gram, y’all.)
Rachel Zoe Collection Palm Print Duster ($150): This duster/caftan situation is the big ticket item this time around, and this made it to me just in time for my Caribbean cruise I’m going on in a few weeks! I will definitely be treating this as a bathing suit cover-up, but basically The Chic-est Bathing Suit Cover-Up Of All Time. You can expect to see lots of instagram model-y pics of me wearing this with a beach/ocean in the background in the very near future. I’m also very excited to actually have something from Rachel Zoe’s actual fashion line. This duster is SO her style and so I feel like I can channel her Boho-Glamour chic when I wear it!
Bonnie Clyde The Hill Exclusive Sunglasses ($64): These sunglasses are my personal favorite thing in this month’s box. I still wear the sunglasses I received in my Summer 2017 Box of Style almost every day and I know these gorgeous millennial pink shades will make their way into the regular rotation as well. And did I mention I am going on a cruise soon? (Hey, it’s my first cruise, not to mention my first time out of the country. I am excited!) I am definitely going to bring a few pairs of sunglasses with me because I plan to spend the majority of my time either on a beach or by a pool, and I want to have some options.
I’m really glad that I received these because these are not something I would have sought out and purchased myself but I am really glad that I have them because I think they will elevate any look and make me look a bit more stylish than I actually am.
Kopari Coconut Rose Toner ($24): I have heard of the Kopari brand on YouTube and because they are at Sephora but I haven’t purchased any of their products myself. This toner smells HEAVENLY, but of course, I do love rose scents. Coconut isn’t my favorite scent, although I certainly don’t hate it. However, the combo of rose and coconut smells so good to me. The product description says you can use this as a setting spray, but I think I would use it more as a primer instead, like after I get out of the shower, I might spray this a bit on my face before I go in with skincare. Those with dryer skin may enjoy using this after they apply their makeup, but I’m afraid that for me personally, it would make my makeup break up a bit sooner. I have only used this for a short period of time so I haven’t had a chance to notice if it prevents breakouts or soothe redness/irritation yet, but it smells really great!
And unrelated to the product itself, I really love the packaging. The wavy pink part at the bottom of the bottle is rubber-y – sort of feels like a brand new pencil eraser. I don’t know why but something about it is so satisfying to me.
Kopari Lip Love ($12): I have actually heard of this product before as one of my fave YouTubers, Jessica Braun, received a few Kopari products from Sephora by accident and ended up trying them and really liking them and they became a favorite of hers. What I didn’t mention above (and should have probably led with – good job, Lauren.) is that Kopari is known for their coconut oil and coconut is a main ingredient in their products. I didn’t think there would be castor oil in this product but was relieved that there wasn’t when I checked the ingredients. This makes my lips look super glossy but also feels really nice on the lips since coconut oil and shea butter are the main ingredients.
Lili Claspe Rope the Moon Lariat Exclusive in Gold ($115): This is my second favorite thing in the box because I have a deep love affair with delicate gold layering necklaces. So the necklace I received in the box is the one in the middle with the little crescent moon and star. (The other necklaces are from Baublebar. Duh.) I wore this to a bridal shower the other day and I got several compliments, which confirmed what I already knew – this is stunning! I just love that the little star dangles down from the top of the crescent moon so the moon sort of hangs over that little chain. And I couldn’t get a great picture of it, but there is a tiny crescent moon on the clasp as well. It’s just beautiful and I love it!
Here is a closer look at the necklace. Isn’t it gorgeous?! And thank you to my husband for being a good sport and taking a few pictures for me. I told him that he is going to be taking some pictures of me on the cruise, and his response was that he’s been training his whole life for it. Hahaha. He’s a true gem.
Jen Atkin x Chloe + Isabel Suede + Baguette Headwrap And Choker ($48): Truth talk time: head wrap/choker situation is what I enjoy the least in the box. I mean, it’s ok. They aren’t going to please everyone with every product every time. (Though they do come damn close!) I just don’t like the style enough to wear it as a choker, and I have a personal problem when it comes to headbands like this, as my head is basically flat on the back, so things that I would tie at the bottom end up just slipping off very quickly. Like, it’s basically flat from the back of my neck on up. There is no curve there that would help hold something that you would tie at the base of a normal shaped head. So yeah, this won’t work for me. But while it’s not my personal style, I do think it’s very pretty, so I will set this aside for a gift. I think someone else will just love this!
Final Grade: A+
The Zoe Report did it again with another fantastic Box of Style! I cannot wait to wear the Rachel Zoe Collection Palm Print duster on my vacation! And it will definitely be paired with those beautiful pink sunnies. The Rope the Moon gold necklace is just beautiful and I can’t wait to wear it more often. I’m also fired up to explore the Kopari brand a bit.
