This month’s Play! by Sephora bag was super silky and cute this month, and it also seemed to be a little fuller than normal (which is a thing I will never complain about ever).

Look at all that loot! Thanks, Sephora!

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 ($39 for full-size): Instead of a proper foundation, this is my go-to product. It’s balmy, light coverage, and somehow makes your skin better than it was before you used it. Not only does it perfect your skin, but it hydrates and protects against the sun. Win, win, win.

Lancome Hynose Drama Instant Full Body Volume Mascara ($27.50 for full-size): I did not expect to like this mascara as much as I do. Ever since ditching my beloved lash extensions over a year ago, I have been on a never-ending quest to find an adequate mascara that delivers on all the crazy promises that every mascara boasts about. Spoiler: it’s been a rough search. While I can’t ever imagine spending this much for mascara, I was impressed by it. I see that the brush looks very different on the full-sized product, I would imagine that would impact the application. Shrug.

Briogeo Blossom & Bloom Ginseng + Biotin Volumizing Spray ($20 for full-size): I’ve been pretty impressed with every Briogeo product I’ve tried so far. This volumizing spray not only works to add fullness to your hair, but it also has lemon and witch hazel in it to act as an oil absorber, which extends your shampoo! Genius. I seriously love this brand and everything they put out.

Sephora Collection Contour Eye Pencil 12-Hour Waterproof Wear ($10 for full-size): I love getting mini eye liners! I can’t remember the last time I used a full sized liner until it ran out, so minis are perfect for me. This pencil actually reminds me of Julep’s gel gliders – in fact, if it was revealed that it was the exactly same product I would not be shocked at all. It glides on like a gel liner, and it stays put once it’s on. The “waterproof” bit is a little misleading. It’s not hard to wash off, but once it’s on it will not smudge at all.

Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain ($14 for full-size): This is the only product this month that I’m giving a big ol’ MEH to. Mostly it’s a personal problem – I don’t really love lip products. This one is pretty purple, and for someone who doesn’t wear lip color ever, that’s pretty darn adventurous. The formula seems nice, but it’s just not my thing.

Marajo Hair Care Cleansing Creme & Deep Treatment Butter ($44 for full-size set): LOVE THIS STUFF. The cleansing creme is so luxurious and the treatment butter left my hair insanely soft. I often find myself surprised when people have no idea that oftentimes moisture is the key to volume. When you dry your hair out, it falls flat and becomes oily. When you pump it full of the right kind of moisture and let your hair’s natural oils hydrate your locks, your hair becomes alive in a way that only exists in Pantene commercials. This stuff is amazing. It’s extremely hydrating, but it leaves your hair pumped up and not weighed down at all.

Final Rating: A

I loved this box. The only product I wasn’t nuts for was the lip stain, but everything else was on point and perfect for me! The super silky luxe bag this month only made it more perfect. I’ve found that I reuse the bags they send; they’re perfect for keeping products organized when I travel. I’ll be adding this one to my collection!

xo,

Jill
