First things first – Jill is the real MVP for writing a ton of blogs while I was on vacation. She is so incredibly busy running approximately 1,000 businesses, so I appreciate her jumping in so I didn’t have to worry about it. Matt and I were on a Caribbean cruise with my parents and it was FABULOUS. My only regret is that I didn’t take nearly as many pictures as I envisioned I would. But I was too busy having a fabulous time, and honestly, isn’t that what it’s all about?
As I stated in my “14 Questions” blog, Colourpop is one of my very favorite makeup brands, and I hadn’t placed an order in a fairly long time. If you are new to Colourpop, you can get $5 off your first order by using my referral link, no matter what you buy! (Full disclosure, if you use my link, I’ll get money to spend at Colourpop. So honestly, it’s a win-win. 🙂 ) And $5 goes a long way at CP- you can get an eyeshadow and still have a $1 leftover!
When they introduced their Butterfly collection, I was ENTRANCED with the artwork on the packaging. It was just SO BEAUTIFUL. So I knew I had to pick up some things. The full collection is pictured below – I didn’t get everything here because I couldn’t justify getting some of the things JUST for the packaging. But I think I might go back and get one of those blush palettes. I’m having some FOMO about that peachy one in the middle.
But onto what I actually DID buy…
Oh – Don’t be mad at me but I didn’t do swatches of the products, but you can click on the links and look at the products in more detail on the Colourpop site if you want! After getting back in town, I didn’t have a ton of time and so I just wanted to get the blog out! OK, now onto the things. (For real this time.)
The Super Shock Shadows!
I probably didn’t need to share all of the packaging pics, but I definitely wanted to share the packaging from the Butterfly collection, because I just love those boxes! My pupils are hearts. If you have never tried Super Shock Shadows, you MUST. They have the most delightful, marshmallow-esque texture. They make a huge impact because they are incredibly pigmented, and the formula holds glitter really well, so the glittery shades are much easier to work with than loose glitter or even the Stila Glitter and Glow Magnificent Metals.
Banana Daiquiri ($5): I have been eyeing this teal with gold glitter for a long time. I am just so drawn to this color in general, so I’d rather spend $5 on it rather than $25. In some of the pics I shared below, I’m wearing this on my lid, tho it’s kind of hard to tell.
Bubble Bee ($5): When I saw this bright yellow orange with the new Butterfly collection, I knew I had to have it. In the pics below, I’m wearing this on my inner corner. I’m getting more into yellow-y eyeshadow right now, and I really love this.
Superfly ($5): This deep turquoise with green and violet duochrome had my heart. This was the color that was in my cart first. I love a good duochrome and thought it was so beautiful. Though I have to admit, I WAS a little disappointed with this one. Super Shock Shadows are notorious for being super pigmented and this one was just weirdly not as pigmented. I think it’s better as an eyeshadow topper than a one and done shadow. I used it over Banana Daiquiri to give it a bit of dimension.

Every now and then when I like my makeup, I take some pics for the ‘gram. I feel a little silly just staring at the camera, so I try to make Matt and I laugh by doing dumb shit. I also like grabbing my cats, but honestly, it’s their fault for walking over to the ring light.
The Brushes!
Lash Brush ($5): I only had one of these spoolie brushes and it was old as hell and needed to be replaced so badly. This isn’t a particularly exciting brush but I use this to remove clumps from my eyelashes or to brush out my brows if I go a bit crazy with the Boy Brow.
Small Tapered Brush ($6) + Tapered Blending Brush ($6): I am obsessed with tapered blending brushes so basically I just wanted more of them. You can really never have enough. I love these because they are suuuuuper soft and they blend shadow so beautifully. I love the bigger one for laying down a transition color and the smaller one for slightly more specific color placement.

Colourpop brushes are all faux fur but I think the quality is really nice, especially for the price tag. These are not my first Colourpop brushes and they definitely won’t be my last!
The Lux Lipsticks!
The Lux Lipstick formula is relatively new, but in Colourpop terms, it’s probably old already, as they release something new basically every day. However, I still hadn’t tried them until this order, and now I am mad at myself for waiting! The formula is just lovely – they are extremely comfortable and easy to wear. While they aren’t budge-proof liquid lipsticks, they don’t move all over my face, even without a lipliner. I will be getting more ASAP.
I apologize for the bad picture, I just couldn’t get the lighting right! Liquid Courage ($7) is a brick red and Still Crazy ($7) is a mauvey pink. I hope you can see the little stars on the bullet.
Miscellaneous Things!
I have wanted a matte olive shadow for awhile, so I purchased the Pressed Powder Shadow in Team Captain ($5). I honestly thought I didn’t buy the compact for the single shadow, to bring the cost of the shadow down to $4, but I must not have been paying attention. So I ended up with this cute little single shadow compact. (Pictured separately above in the packaging and together below.)
I have wanted the Crème Gel Liner in Mr. Bing ($5): which is a rich warm matte brown. I have wanted this for a REALLY long time. I am still trying to find a replacement for one of my all-time favorite liners from Bare Minerals, and this one looks REALLY CLOSE. So here’s hoping I love it! I will be trying it tomorrow for the first time. This liner was from a Kathleen Lights collection and it always makes her green eyes pop, so I’m hoping it will do the same for me. 🙂
And I always love this special touch – they always include a cute little handwritten note that have different fun sayings on them, usually with drawings. I think about whose job it is to write all those notes. I feel like that would be such a fun job.
Have I inspired you to get anything? If so, don’t forget to use my link to save some dolla bills! I’m sure in the time it took me to write this blog, Colourpop came out with three new collections, so I’m sure I’ll be placing another order soon enough. 🙂

Dear Daughter, Since I am on the never ending quest for a great eye liner that works for me, I ordered the Color Pop eye liner in Mr. Bing and Brew Ha Ha. We’ll see…
PS The Nieuw Amsterdam was amazing!
I think you’ll like the CP liners. I think they are comparable to the Marc Jacobs ones but much less expensive.
