I’m not sure I have ever been so excited to be accepted to an Influenster campaign as I was when I found out I would be receiving the new Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme ($44). This is a product I was really excited about when I heard about the release via TrendMood as I have always been a big fan of the Ole Henriksen brand and I always end up going back to their Truth Serum, which was my first foray into the world of vitamin C serums.
As y’all learned in my blog about my fave moisturizers, you know I love a good gel creme. Gel cremes are that perfect hybrid between a lighter gel moisturizer that might not be moisturizing enough and a heavier lotion which might be a little too much. Sort of like in Goldilocks and the three bears, gel cremes are JUST RIGHT.
So y’all know when I heard Ole Henriksen was coming out with a gel creme in their Truth line, I was already all in. When I received it in the mail last week, it was honestly a little like Christmas. I haven’t been buying a whole lot lately since my financial situation changed, so getting the opportunity to review a high-end creme I already wanted via Influenster was awesome.

Included in the box was this awesome Ole Henriksen-branded pouch. The outside is a canvas material but the inside is coated with a plastic-y material, so it’s perfect for your products in case one of them takes a spill. I actually really wish I had this bag on our recent trip, because it’s awesome. I put the moisturizer box on top of the bag so you could see how big it was!
So the moisturizer itself comes in a beautiful heavy glass bottle, so it feels ultra luxurious. There are 1.7 oz of product in the jar, if you are into knowing that. The outer packaging is a really happy orange shade which goes along with Ole Henriksen’s Truth line branding. I loved the Ole Henriksen quote on the inside of the box that says, “Always be true to yourself.” This kind of thing is obviously completely unnecessary but I love little touches like that. It just makes opening a product feel a little more special.
Here’s what the Sephora site says about the C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme:
The daily effects of stress, fatigue, and pollution can leave skin looking dry and dull. Fight back with C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème. This innovative, peachy-tinted gel cream illuminates the look of skin and delivers an energizing burst of up to 24 hours of hydration. It diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, renews a look of youthful radiance, and supports skin’s firmness—but that’s not all. It even improves makeup application, creating a smooth, hydrated canvas for foundation and concealer. Powered by three sources of vitamin C, as well as rose of winter, it imparts a rush of brightness you can see: A soft, supple, crush-worthy Ole Glow®.
The product itself is just completely lovely. It is a yellow color and has almost a jelly-like texture. It feels bouncy and cooling to the touch. It definitely has a very strong orange scent, so if you are sensitive to scents – this product ain’t for you. But I have been using this under makeup during the day and my skin is well-hydrated but it doesn’t make the makeup go on weird or make it wear any differently than if I was wearing one of my different moisturizers. In fact, I do think my makeup went on really easily, per their claims.
After using the C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme for about a week, I honestly think this would be great for all skin types – definitely normal/combo/oily skin. I think even dry-skinned guys and gals would like this for a day lotion but it might not be thick enough for a nighttime cream. I think it’s thicker than some other gel cremes I’ve tried – it’s thicker than the Belif Aqua Bomb. But it’s still not *too* thick. You get me? I haven’t used this long enough to know if this stuff helps with firming/wrinkles but it definitely moisturizes my skin very well with no greasiness! I know I will be using this until it is all gone… and then I may buy some more.
Let me know what you think. Are you going to pick up the new Ole Henriksen C-Rush Brightening Gel Creme ($44)?
