OK, I broke my low buy for this. But I had never seen Colourpop do a mystery bag before (though I do think they’ve done it before? I just don’t remember) and I thought this would make a great blog. However, I was BLOWN AWAY by this. With mystery bags and subscription boxes, you don’t always know what you’ll get, and sometimes I assume they are just getting rid of the shit they can’t sell. But in this case, I will use ALL OF THIS. Like, literally every product they sent. It made me incredibly happy. Especially because it came on the same day as my Beautylish Luckybag (read my full thoughts here) and I was MUCH more impressed with the $25 Colourpop Mystery Bag versus the $75 Beautylish Luckybag. I couldn’t resist taking pictures of it right away so I could start digging in on all of the products. I am not sure if everyone got the same thing, but it does seem like in my case, the products were generally in the same color family, which was nice. It didn’t feel random. It felt thoughtful and cohesive. Honestly, I was so surprised how great this mystery bag is!
Unboxing
LOOK AT HOW MANY THINGS I GOT FOR $25! It’s almost a week later as I’m writing this, and I am still so excited about everything.
EYES
BFF Mascara ($8): FIRST OF ALL. (See? So excited that I cannot stop using all caps.) COLOURPOP INCLUDED THEIR BRAND NEW MASCARA! After I purchased the mystery bag, I found out that Colourpop was releasing mascara (in a rainbow of shades, but also black), and I was so bummed because I had JUST placed my order, sans mascara. I was just so thrilled to see their new mascara in the bag, in the shade Black on Black. (Brushes were not included, they are just pretty.)
I’m still trying to decide how I feel about it. I very much like the wand, because it is pretty much exactly like the Too Faced Better Than Sex wand. But the Too Faced formula is really thick and clumpy, which I enjoy, and the Colourpop version is more lengthening and fluttery. I do like the Colourpop mascara but I’m not sure if it’s going to take the place of Monsieur Big ($25) yet.
Super Shock Shadows in Party of Five (Warm burgundy with a ton of multi-colored duochrome glitter on top) and Drift (satin true cranberry) ($5 each): I really love these two shadows, and I especially love how much they coordinate! Drift isn’t super metallic or anything – it’s more like a satin. But I have found that I have come to appreciate satins. I don’t mind having a bit of shimmer in the crease, and so I really like satins for that. Party of Five is more like an eyeshadow topper, as it has more glitter than base pigment. But the glitter is holographic and looks so incredibly multi-dimensional. I love it.
I used them both last weekend and I love the look that I came up with.
Super Shock Highlighter in Guilty Pleasure ($8): (Icy light peach with a gold sheen) I swatched this in the picture below, so you might be able to see that this might be a tad too dark for me. I might be able to wear this if I have a tan. But truly, I think the color is so lovely that I might actually wear it as eyeshadow on a “no makeup” makeup day.
Pressed Powder Shadow in Come and Get It ($4): (duochrome rose with a gold flip) This is such a pretty duochrome shade! The first time I saw a shade like this was in the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette. (The big white one she came out with a year or so ago, not the small ones from the vault collection.) Then I think I got a similar shade in a single from Colourpop. Now I am wondering if I already have this shade or if it’s slightly different! It is confirmed – I already own this. Whoops! But it’s totally gorgeous, so I’m sure a friend will appreciate it, since I def do not need both.

LIPS
We got FOUR different lip products in this mystery bag, which is awesome. And we didn’t get any of their Ultra Matte lipsticks, which are my least favorite. Instead we got a gloss, a stain/blot type formula, a matte lipstick, and a blur lux. And I am excited about all.
Blur Lux Lipstick in 21 Questions ($7): One of the saddest things that happened is that when I opened the tube and twisted the lipstick up, it sort of broke off and fell to the floor. That was tragic. But I scooped it back up and stuck it in the bullet. I can still use it, but I’m just not ever going to be able to twist it up very much. I haven’t had a chance to try this one yet, but I really love the color, which is a burnt orange red. I bought a nude color in this formula (Hey Mr. DJ) and I’m still trying to determine how I feel about it. It definitely feels lightweight, but it’s also a tad drying. I’m not saying I don’t like it – I still need more time to decide.
Lippie Stix Matte X in Ziggie ($5.50): (Matte X dark terracotta) The Matte X Lippie Stix formula is very smooth and glides on easily. I have to admit, it is NOT my favorite formula by Colourpop. It’s OK, but I just don’t really care about it. I do like the color though. It has a real 90s vibe!
Ultra Blotted Lip in Doozy ($6): (warm rose) I am very excited about this, as I like the Blotted Lip formula but I’ve only tried one color so I’m excited to have another one in a color I’ll actually wear.
Ultra Glossy Lip in Flying Horses ($6): (sheer dusty rose) I already own this gloss but I adore it and need another one for work AND my purse. #Convenience. This shade is basically my lips but better.

Final Grade: A+++++
I am so glad that I got this mystery bag. I will 100% buy another one, but I don’t know how it could top this one. Colourpop > By Terry. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.

Lauren, Please bring the 21Questions lipstick when you come to San Antonio on the 22nd. I’m so picky about lipstick shades, but I’d like to try it! ColourPop makes the best cream eye shadows (Cornelius and Crenshaw). They do not crease! mom ❤️
I’ll try to remember! ❤️❤️❤️
