Despite the name being cringe-worthy, ColourPop new sheer Lippie Stix are my new favorite makeup toy. First of all, they are $5. FIVE DOLLARS. You can’t even buy a latte for $5 anymore, yet you can get beautiful, quality lip color for that price. Lippie Stix (I feel like I’m 13 calling them that) come in all sorts of finishes and shades, much like all of ColourPop products. This brand has mastered everything from sweet and subtle to bold and questionable, but their regular lipsticks have been a little too opaque for my liking.

When they announced their new sheer line, I yelped and immediately texted Lauren (who got me into ColourPop in the first place) – THEY’RE HERE. THEY’RE FINALLY HERE. The balmy moisturizing color of Lippie Stix with a light, sheer finish – basically, my perfect lip product.

I have a deep love for pretty things and the self control of a toddler, so I immediately ordered 4 of them. (I mean, they’re $5, it’s not like I have a problem… I can quit anytime I want… I just need this, man!)

I’ve been wearing these pretty much every day since I got them. I layer them over a touch of lip balm and have found that they last a surprisingly long time. They are easily buildable if you want brighter color, which is one of ColourPop’s signature claims to fame, and they offer pretty impressive staying power. They can easily last for most of the day with a slight touch-up after eating (though they have been known to withstand a few meals in my experience), and since they’re sheer you don’t have to worry about them getting all over your teeth.

Juice Bar – My go-to daily color is definitely Juice Bar, as it’s a subtle pink that brightens up my face in such a natural way. I keep it in my purse for touch-ups but rarely need it. It’s such a pretty pink that looks great with my pale-ish complexion.

Crunch – Crunch is a lovely peachy coral that is great for when I’m feeling a little bolder. My definition of bold is very different than most people who wear lipstick, but whenever I wear this one I feel like I’m part of the cool crowd. Cool people wear coral, no? I could be wrong.

Kiddo – Kiddo is a nice subtle taupe that will be perfect in the fall. It has such a neutral warmth to it and I can see myself wearing this to special events where I might go for a smokey eye or something a little more intense on my eyes. I don’t do wild makeup at all, so if I’m wearing bold eye makeup I make sure the rest of my face is in check. Kiddo looks particularly gorgeous with some gloss over it.

Tiger – Tiger is a little more on the berry end of things for a slightly brighter look. I very, very rarely go full berry, so taking some baby steps with this sheer color is going to help me be more comfortable with such a dark/bright lip. I envy you ladies who can pull off full berry lips!

I love the variety that these come in. I got four very different shades, but there are 8 total available – mostly in brighter shades because I’m not daring enough to try them. However, you can browse through them all here, by clicking this link.
