One of my favorite things about Birchbox is that no one ever really gets the same box. I love that I’m just as excited to see what Lauren gets each month as I am to see what’s in my own box – they’re so rarely the same. Generally we’ll get one or two items that are similar, but this month was extra fun because we had zero similarity at all!

Birchbox sends out deluxe, high-end samples at $10/month. One of the great things about Birchbox is you can earn free cash money to use in their store where you can purchase full-sized items that you’ve received in the sample box just by giving some feedback about what you received. I’ve saved so much money on stuff because I take like 20 seconds to review each item I receive.

This month I got an apology email saying that they accidentally sent me an item that was in last month’s box, but they were giving me $5 in credit in my account to make up for it (which is super cool of them). I ended up the Ultimate Subscription Box Champion, because they sent me another sample of Harvey Prince’s Hello perfume that I LOVED! Alright, enough rambling, let’s see what I got:

Harvey Prince perfume in Hello ($26 – $90 for full size) – Well, hello again, Hello. Very nice to see you! I absolutely love the smell of this perfume – it’s a mixture of citrus and floral tones that is so yummy that I’m going to buy a full sized bottle of it.

Dear Clark Volumizing Tonic ($26 for full size) – I have spent my entire life searching for the answer to thick, luxurious hair. Whenever I get a volumizing product I am ecstatic. While this spray is not the holy grail of hair products, it’s a great volumizing spray for added oomph. It left no noticeable residue and my hair definitely had extra lift the day I tried it, despite the small amount I used. I have a regimen of products that nearly double my hair’s volume (hello, Pret-a-Powder), and this spray may just end up a part of it. I also really like that it’s handmade!

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow in Light/Medium ($24 for full-sized) YESSSSS. I am down to try any and all brow products. This color is sliiiiightly too light for me, but otherwise I love it. I am totally 100% hooked on Julep’s Don’t Leave Your Brows at Home, but Gimme Brow put up a good fight. The brush applicator is quite nice and it has serious staying power. The tip is designed to let you shape and blend easily, which is also super handy. It’s a contender if I can find it in a darker color.

ModelCo Ultra Long-Lasting Lipstick in Smitten (a trio for $20) – I’m not going to lie, I will never wear this. I am just not good with lipstick, let alone super intense lipstick. This lipstick is meant to be extremely moisturizing and super pigmented, giving you a comfortable lip without wearing much lipstick, which sounds great. Except it’s way too dark for me. It’ll likely end up in the Boxy Ladies Shop, where good stuff we love but will never use end up.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser ($35 for full-sized) I have really liked all the Dr. Brandt products I’ve received in past boxes, so I’m looking forward to trying this. I am currently totally gaga over the Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder that I got in my last Popsugar Special Edition box, so it may take me a while to try this one. I’m just being honest.

Final Rating: A+

I really enjoyed this month’s Birchbox. While the lipstick is something I’m not going to use, it’s still a full-sized item that I can easily gift or re-sell. I am super stoked about the Dear Clark volumizing tonic and the bonus sample of Hello, both of which are such rockstars that I want to buy full-sized versions of them. Birchbox is popular for a reason, and this month’s box proved why.
