This is going to be a quick-n-dirty review of my June Julep Maven box since I wasn’t too thrilled with it. Read on to find out why…
As a reminder, the Julep Maven program allows you to customize a box of 2-3 nail polishes and other beauty products for just $24.99/month. However, Julep just rewarded some of their long-time Mavens with special discounted box pricing, so I think my base box is now $20/month, which was the price it was when I first joined, prior to the customizable boxes! They also allow you to add the appropriately named “Add-On” products to your box for extremely discounted prices. You also earn points or “Jules” for taking your monthly boxes and you can apply these Jules to purchases.
When I opened my box, I was really confused because I did not remember picking ANY of those things. The first thing I did was scroll through my texts with Jill and Melissa, because we always send each other the things we are going to choose each month. As I thought, I had DEFINITELY chosen different things. Or so I thought. While Julep lets you totally customize your box, they always assign you a default box. So if you did nothing every month, you would still get something. Or, if you forgot to click SAVE on your customized box, you would still get that default box. So yeah. It was very confusing for a minute but I want to be very clear that this was Lauren’s fault. Not Julep’s fault.
So this is what I ended up getting:

And I got some White Chevron Decals. If you’ve followed this blog for awhile, you know I tend to gravitate towards dark colors, special finishes, pretty much every version of cobalt blue that Julep releases, etc. So when I received a “rose quartz crème” and a “melon splash ghost shimmer” (which, LOL to that name) I was 100% perplexed. And it’s also why I’m not doing swatches this month because I am likely going to throw these into the box for the winner of the June POPSUGAR Must Have Giveaway. (Have you entered yet? In terms of the chevron decals, it’s possible I will use them. But it’s also possible I will forget I own them. Unclear. Time will tell.
