My September 2016 Target Beauty Box has arrived! As a reminder, this one isn’t actually a subscription box. Target just likes to release these boxes around the first of every month fro about $7-$10 each. I wish Target would get with the program and finally just have a subscription program, but til then, you gotta watch your inbox (that is, if you’ve signed up for our email alerts.)
The September box was $10, so let’s see what that bought me!
Here’s everything we got this month!
Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara ($7.49): Sigh. Another mascara, another disappointment. This one made my lashes very black, but mostly kind of clumpy. I’m glad I had the opportunity to try it, though! (Seriously, I feel like someday I will have tried ALL the mascaras.)
Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick in Naughty Nude ($6.99): So often I get lipsticks in boxes that don’t work for my coloring. I mean, that is the luck of the draw in beauty boxes- not every color is going to look good on everyone. And I think occasionally, they will include nudes because they think those will work for more people. However so many of those nudes never work for me… UNTIL NOW. I am so happy! I also really love the scent of this. It reminds me a little of L’Oreal lipsticks from back in the day (or maybe they still smell like that?) but either way, I love it.
And here’s a swatch of Naughty Nude. I like it because it has some pinky undertones that work well on my skin!
Laneige Water Bank Moisture Cream ($32/full-size): One of the reasons I keep buying these Target boxes is that they almost always include pretty big Laneige samples, so I’ve never paid full price for one of the creams, even though I really love them. The Water Bank Moisture Cream works on my dry skin but isn’t heavy. Though I wear it almost every night, this is great for winter, also!
Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser ($5.99/full-size): This is something that’s in my shower right now! I will either toss this in my gym bag or save it for travel, since this is something I know I already like!
S.W. Basics Organic Lip Balm ($5.00): This stuff smelled like chocolate. What I like about these is that there are only three ingredients: cocoa butter, coconut oil and beeswax. But mostly… it smells like chocolate.
OGX Nourishing Coconut Milk Shampoo ($5.79/full-size): I haven’t had a chance to try this yet but it’s going in my gym bag because the shampoo I got in my last Allure Beauty Box is almost out!
Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner ($8.59/full-size): I haven’t tried this either, but I’m going to use it on a weekend when I don’t have to dry my hair so I can really get the full benefits out of the deep conditioner. Since I have color-treated hair, it’s good for me to deep condition every now and then, even though it’s not something that I need for every day.
Final Grade: A!
This Target Beauty Box had a total value of about $30 which is a great value for paying just $10. In addition to all of the great products, Target also threw in a $3 off coupon for a beauty purchase of $15 or more. (Easy to do at Target, right?) This was a great box. I love the Laneige cream, the Biore face wash, the OGX shampoo, and the Rimmel lipstick!
