Last month got away from me a bit and once I finally sat down to review the August Allure Beauty Box, the September one showed up! And the September box is incredible – so I am going to focus more on that one but write a mini review of the August box at the end. Cool? Cool.

ALLURE BEAUTY BOX

Price: $15.00/month

Box Type: Monthly beauty box featuring 6 high end beauty product samples (and sometimes full-sized products!).

Why you’ll love it: Top brands, great price, new products that you will love! A great way to sample expensive products without committing to the price tag. Each box comes with an Allure mini-magazine that showcases each product and is as quality as you’d expect from a magazine powerhouse like Allure.

How To Subscribe: Click here! (If there’s a space for it, tell them we sent you! They don’t have a referral program but they obviously should.)

I was immediately excited for the September box as soon as I saw the Allure “Best of Beauty” Award Winner” logo because if it included all of their best-rated products, then I knew it would be a great box. And I was right.

Seriously, this must be the best box Allure has ever sent! Read on for the deets.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Blushing Bride ($29): You’re seeing this right. They included a full-sized Tarte blush. This is a pretty pink that will look great with more cool-toned looks, I think. Though honestly, it might be light enough that it could be neutral enough for many different looks. I’m excited to add this one to my growing blush collection!

Beautyblender Micro Mini ($18/set of 2): I am really excited to have another Micro Mini Beautyblender. I got my first one in a PLAY! by Sephora box. I have seen some YouTubers (I think Christen Dominique?) use these to blend cream contour, to help keep control of where the “shadow” goes, which I think is a good idea. I haven’t ventured into cream contour yet – hell – I can barely do powder contour. But I like the idea of using this little beautyblender for that. In addition to concealer around the eyes/nose, etc. Also – can we talk about how it’s millennial pink?! I can’t even find that for sale anywhere. It’s freaking adorable.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye ($37): I have found an eye cream that I love but I do like having little tubes of eye cream for my gym bag in the mornings!

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream ($60): I have been dipping my toe into Drunk Elephant skincare lately and so I’m really glad that subscription boxes are starting to send me more and more of their products. I’ve had my eye on this cream for awhile so I’m glad I finally get to try it!

Living Proof Full Dry Volume Blast ($29): I’ve actually used this stuff for quite some time. It will never take the place of the Oribe dry texturizing spray but it is much cheaper. I use this to help my ponytails have a little volume.

And here’s the August box:

Vichy Minéral 89 Skin Fortifying Daily Booster ($29.50): I’ve really enjoyed this in the morning before my workouts because it absorbs pretty much instantly and doesn’t feel goopy on my face when I sweat. I may even get the full-size! I originally tried this in a BeautyFix box so I was glad to get another while I debate getting the bigger version!

Skinfix Facial Cleansing Cloths ($9.99/package of 20): I’ve been trying to ween myself off of cleansing cloths because of how bad they are for the environment. But I do still like having a few around for various things. I’ll use these.

Hey Honey I Peel Good! Biometic Honey Peel Cream ($65): I feel like I might have tried this through ipsy or Birchbox or something but I don’t remember how I felt about it. TBD.

Ouai Finishing Crème ($24): I have a feeling this is for a thicker hair type than mine but I still may give it a go anyway, considering how cool and hyped the brand is irihr

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask ($39): I tried this mask back when I reviewed the Caudalie X SkinStore box and I thought it would be better for oily/acne-prone skin. I am having some issues on my chin and I am going to just put this stuff directly there and not all over, to prevent dryness but hopefully help with the situation I have going on.

Final Grade:

September: A+
August: B

I love the September box so much! I am so excited to try the Drunk Elephant cream, the Kiehl’s eye cream, the mini beautyblender, the Tarte blush… OK, everything. It was a fantastic box. The August box was OK but I do really like that Vichy Mineral serum stuff, so I was glad to get more of it!
