Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This isn’t quite a “haul.” But I did order a few of my favorite things so I thought I would share them with you.

I often think about the mistakes I made in my youth and so sometimes I wonder what piece of advice I would give 21 year old Lauren and I finally decided upon this:

Fill in your eyebrows.

Yes. I know this sounds superficial but young, dumb, 21 year old Lauren was going to make her terrible life choices anyway. She might as well have had eyebrows in pictures. She was just as vain then as she is now. She was just… less informed.

I had always stayed away from eyebrow products since I have huge eyebrows. However, I have huge blonde eyebrows. They require some definition. That’s where my Tarte Amazon Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse comes in. I’ll be honest, I’ve only tried a few brow products but this is The Best One. It comes with the double ended brush you need and the formula is really easy to work with. It’s nearly impossible to mess up.

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm is the liquid makeup I always go back to. I bounce between this one and the Black Label but when my skin is behaving and not acting like a 14 year old girl, the Premium BB evens my skin without being heavy and it also makes it a bit glow-y. In a good way not in a euphemism for sweat kind of way.

Since I’m getting married in a month and a half (!!!) I’m trying to keep my skin under control and not experiment too much with my routine. It seems to be working. (Knock on wood!)

In addition to what I ordered, I also got some samples in addition to a special Bare Minerals set for VIB’s.

I did a rough and dirty application of the Dr. Jart+ bb cream, the tarte brow mousse and the Bare Minerals set when I got out of the shower. I didn’t do my whole routine with concealer but you can use your imagination. The blush and the eye shadow are both very pretty and they are small but still pretty substantial. The eye shadow will be great for my purse. The lipstick is a bit pink for my taste but I did wear it to breakfast today and it looked ok.

I ordered the Dolce and Gabbana The One cologne sample for Matt because I wear the lady version. He is not used to opening cologne samples and half of it went everywhere. But we did manage to get some on him and it smelled really good. I’m not quite sure I know how to describe it except it smells like a man version of my perfume. I know that’s super helpful. I also got him the Jack Black facial scrub but I have no idea if he will use it. He is a “splash water on his face occasionally” kind of guy.

I use eye cream the way I drink water–often. And I’m really not too picky about what I use. I use fancy things and Olay so I’m eager to try the Benefit eye cream.

  1. D&G The One is awesome. It’s what Tim wears and I love it. I even steal it and wear it sometimes. I didn’t know there was a lady version, I’ll have to check it out!!
