Sigh. I keep trying with Wantable. I really do. You saw my negative Wantable Intimates post. It was my first box with them and I gave them the benefit of the doubt though. Still waiting on my second box to see if they have redeemed themselves in that area. But in the meantime, I saw a lot of cute stuff from Wantable Accessories on other blogs so I decided to go ahead and try that box, too. I didn’t think they could mess that up.
The process for Wantable Accessories is similar to Wantable Intimates. You fill out a survey of preferences, and $36 later they send you a box of “4 boutique accessories handpicked by your personal stylist.”
My personal stylist is on crack. There is no need for any item they gave me in this box.
Go home, Wantable. YOU ARE DRUNK.
The watch, y’all. THE WATCH. It looks like something I would have been excited to wear around 2000. And it’s just SO poorly made. It’s just awful. I don’t have a prejudice against cheap jewelry because I don’t think you have to pay a lot to look on trend. But this is just a hot mess. It’s so bad.
No.
And let’s talk about these HORRIBLE dangle earrings, OK? Have you ever seen anything MORE 80’s/90’s? I feel like my childhood best friend’s mother would wear these in the late 80’s. These are just not on trend, not fashionable, and there is not a thing I could wear them with, ever. The bracelet itself is fairly unoffensive. However, it looks very cheap. I would find better quality at Target. This looks like it came from Claire’s or WalMart. (Editor’s note: I received the WalMart Beauty Box and it was a billion times better than this box. So I’m not hating on WalMart. They just aren’t known for their jewelry quality.)
The only thing in that box I might have worn were those bigger silver earrings. But not really. Even those look very 90’s business woman to me.
They also included a card with the retail value of each item. It’s comical. But for jokes, I will post it:
Anna Earrings (the turquoise disasters): $18 (hahahaha)
Lily bracelet: $16 (ha!)
Miranda watch: $24 (LOL)
Kelsie earrings: $18 (no.)
The card also gives tips on how to wear them. For example: “A stylish leather band with oversized hardware give an edgy look to the Miranda watch. Go casual this fall and pair the Miranda watch with your favorite jeans.” These are kind of cheesy but if the jewelry was cute, I wouldn’t point this out.
This box was a huge miss. I rate it a straight F. I can’t believe that any woman who is concerned about fashion would wear any of these items. I was excited about the Wantable Accessories box because I was hoping I could get some trendy jewelry at a reasonable price. I wasn’t expecting super high quality items. I’m a huge fan of Baublebar and they make cute costume jewelry. It’s not the highest quality jewelry in the world but it’s super cute and performs as advertised. So I was hoping for Baublebar-ish quality in terms of my expectations. I am so disappointed. I also laughed a lot because who in the world would wear this garbage? I feel like I’m being punked. Doesn’t Wantable know I am a very important blogger with Opinions?
Strike 2, Wantable. As of the writing of this post, I am trying to get a full refund for this box.
Update: Wantable’s customer service is amazing and you are always able to get full refunds on your boxes. So there is really nothing to lose to sign up. I’ve had some bad boxes but they have always been very responsive on social media and via email to make sure I am able to get my refund quickly so I really appreciate that about Wantable. Woof.
I was actually thinking “Woof” in your voice as I was looking at everything.
I had the Wantable intimates and accessories boxes. They were ok, but after a couple months I cancelled. Really didn’t do it for me.
I’m looking forward to trying Sunset 45. My first box should be here in a few days and then I may cancel my Wantable subscription for now.
I never heard of that one. Might have to check it out. 😉
Jill wrote about it yesterday in her Want It Wednesday post and I didn’t even make it through reviewing the post before I bought it for myself.
